A few Thursday’s ago the ladies and I had lunch at Zea’s. Lunch time is our time to catch up.  This particular day, I was not in much of a talking mood, but I am thankful to be surrounded by such amazing women, because I definitely left feeling better. There is never a dull moment when we meet for lunch.

Zea’s environment is for a relaxing night out or a formal night out. On most weekends, you can expect a wait if you are going for dinner. The lunch traffic is pretty busy as well. Zea’s has been in existence for approximately 15 years. The first location was in Harahan, LA. In the New Orleans area, there are 6 locations. There are also other locations in Lafayette, Covington & Baton Rouge, Louisiana & Mobile and Birmingham, Alabama.

I ordered a 1/2 rack of wet ribs with double corn grits. This is one of my favorite dishes at Zea’s. Their corn grits are amazing! The best grits I have ever had. The grits are not dry but very moist. The consistency and texture of the grits were perfect. Awesome!!
The ribs are delicious. A rack of premium St. Louis spare ribs that are slow-roasted and grilled. Most people order the Thai ribs, but I prefer the ribs with the wet hickory sauce. The sauce is smoky with a little sweetness. I always order a side of barbecue sauce on the side. The ribs also come Dry or Thai.
Sis. Tara ordered the Mediterranean Hummus & the Spinach Salad. The Mediterranean Hummus consists of sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, roasted garlic, olive oil and calamata olives but she ordered the dish without the calamata olives. The hummus is served with pita bread. She also ordered a spinach salad which had spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, raisins, pecans, calamata olives, bleu cheese and sesame seeds. The salad comes with Pepper Jelly Vinaigrette but Sis. Tara ordered the salad with oil & vinegar.
Her food looked amazing. I didn’t taste any of it, but she said it was delicious. I will definitely be returning to try the hummus. I have had their roasted garlic hummus. Which is absolutely delicious!!! Love, love it!!
Mrs. Nichole also ordered the hummus and she said that she loved it! So two out of two, I would say that the hummus is a winner!

Tammy ordered the Sedona Chicken Panini. The panini included rotisserie chicken, grilled onions, roasted garlic, pepper jack cheese, cilantro, roasted corn and chipotle aioli. Her sandwich looked superb. She loved her sandwich. I did taste the chipotle aioli and it was delicious. The sauce had a nice kick. Tammy was ranting and raving about how good the Sedona Chicken Panini. Her side with her sandwich was the buttered sweet potatoes.

Teresa ordered the Pesto Crusted Trout. Out of all the food we ordered, I must say her plate looked amazing!! The Trout is fresh Idaho filets that are coated with basil pesto and seared. You are given the choice of two sides. Her sides were buttered sweet potatoes and corn grits. She was moaning and groaning over her plate, so I knew what that meant. Kmsl.. She gave her dish several thumbs up!! Definitely a beautiful dish!!

Overall our experience at Zea’s Rotisserie & Grill was a very pleasant experience. The service was awesome. Our server was very enthusiastic, outgoing and consistent. The food was superb. No one had any complaints about the food! Definitely a great place for a date night, couples night out. Zea’s also is a family friendly environment as well, if you need to bring the kids.
