Valentine’s Day for most people is a time to get dolled up and dining out at the most elegant restaurants in town. For us, our Valentine’s Day celebration looks a bit different. We like to enjoy a night of boiled crawfish and a Couples massage.

In the past, we have gone to another popular Crawfish place, but this time we wanted to switch it up.

Hook and Boil recently under went a remodel project. The restaurant looks amazing. I love what they have done with the place.

Hook and Boil offers an inside dining room for sit down service , a bar area with televisions, outside seating and drive thru service.

I really liked the wood and brick accents through out the restaurant.

The outdoor space looked incredible.

The stage was on the back of a truck bed. The truck still had the old rusty look. Alex Smith was there playing some smooth sounds. We really enjoyed him. Sometimes a one man band can be a bit boring but this guy was good.

One of my favorite things about the outdoor area was the additional waiting area with chairs. The space in the corner also had a few games for the kids or adults to play. Perfect way to keep the kids occupied while waiting or while you are eating and they are restless.

I am glad that we arrived when we did, because the place was almost packed indoor and outdoor by 6 pm. So if you want a good seat outside to enjoy the music arrive early.

Enough about the restaurant decor and set up let’s dive into the food. We started with the Praline Chicken. The presentation was amazing. The chicken tenders were seasoned and fried perfectly. Then topped with a pecans in a praline sauce. Wow. The salty and sweetness of this dish was absolutely incredible. We couldn’t stop eating.

For my entree, I tried the Don, which is a Fried Boudin Burger. The Don Burger consisted of a fried boudin patty, a fried egg with pepper jack cheese, pepper jelly glaze, slaw and steen syrup.

I was very disappointed. The burger wasn’t what I thought it would be. The taste and textures did not work for me. After such a delicious appetizer, I expected better.

For someone new to the area or visiting out of town, this might be a good burger because of the Boudin. Take this one back to the drawing board, not a hit at all.

One plus is that the burger had a big B on top of the bun. A nice touch.

My husband ordered the Couillon Combo for his entree. The seafood combo included 1 Dungeness Crab claw, 1/2 lb of Shrimp and 2 lbs of Crawfish. Wow. This seafood combo was delicious. Seasoned well, the sauce was on point! Some of the best boiled seafood we have ever had. The potatoes were delicious and seasoned well. The only complaint is that the corn wasn’t boiled enough. The sausage was different, but in a good way. Tasted like a mix of a smoked sausage and a fresh sausage. Good stuff.

The seafood was so good, I decided to order another 3lbs  of Crawfish. The Crawfish was seasoned well and paired perfectly with the sauce. Some of the best sauce around town. So good.

The boiled seafood was incredibly delicious. As you can see in the pictured below, everyone else agreed. The wait during our 2 hour dine was on going, but the wait staff worked hard to get people seated quickly.  Amazing customer service.

Our waiter and waitress did a phenomenal job servicing us. These guys were on it and quite funny.

Below here we are relaxed and enjoying the music and good food. Thanks Hook and Boil for making our Valentine’s dinner awesome.

Overall we had an amazing time dining at Hook and Boil. The food was incredible. Despite the burger experience, we left with full bellies and pleased with our experience. The wait staff was knowledgeable and professional.

In addition to dining, Hook and Boil also offers a Drive thru for pick up orders.

Hook and Boil is located at 209 N. Morgan Street, Broussard, LA.
