The Cajundome has been around since 1986. Hosting a variety of events, Sporting events, Wrestling, the Harlem Globetrotters, Disney events, Concerts and so much more. The Cajundome recently underwent a major renovation internally.

The renovation was an estimated $22 million dollars. In November, the Cajundome hosted a re-grand opening night to give the community a sneak peek of the renovations.

As I approached the Cajundome, I saw the Monster Truck known as Big Foot.  Monster Trucks is a popular event that draws a huge crowd at the Cajundome every year.

There was a long line waiting outside, the crowd had a sense of anticipation to see what was done on the inside.

As we walked in, I immediately noticed the banners of the USL/ULL players from the past.  A nice addition to the look of the foyer area.

The concession area was updated and modernized. I loved the look.

Each concession area was offering different food options.

I had the opportunity to try several of the new food options.  Below is the Chicken Nachos consisting of grilled chicken, jalapeno cheese, sour cream and guacamole. A great option instead of the normal chili and cheese.

Below is the Turkey Panini Sandwich with chips.  A really good sandwich, a healthier option which will be served with sweet potato fries.

Throughout the night we were served so many different options to choose from.

The concessions area will also continue to carry a concessions favorite, Pizza.

As well as Hot Dogs with chili and cheese served with chips.  The prices are comparable to the concession prices at other arenas.

In addition, Burgers and Chips.  An 8 oz, Angus burger with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, mayo and mustard.

The concession area will also offer seafood options like the Fried Fish topped with Crawfish Etouffee.  This was one of my favorite items of the night. So good.

One addition to the concession is that the food will now be prepared in the concession area.  Where as, before the items were prepared in a different location and carried to the concession area.

Another item that will be served is a Chicken and Sausage gumbo. The gumbo was good.

Another good option instead of the traditional concession options.

After trying a few of the dishes and chatting with a few people I knew, I headed inside to see the court.

I really liked the new look, the black chairs with red accents were nice.  You can see that color pallet throughout the entire arena.

The arena looked great, more seating, nicer chairs and much more.

I took a seat and tried the new plush theater seating. The seating was really nice and much more comfortable than the old seats.

I have to be honest, initially we could not make out at all what it was.  Many in the area I was sitting thought that the plastic covering had messed up the floors.  But it was intended to be that way.

After the reveal, we walked on the opposite side and was able to get a clearer view of what it was, a Swamp.
