As a child, we would often go to CC’s Pizza with friends and family. CC’s Pizza was a pizza buffet that was a go to place for kids and families alike. When the pizza place closed down, it was a great loss for the Lafayette community.

When I heard that Home Slice Pizza was opening, I was beyond excited to see what the concept and style of the restaurant would be. Home Slice recently opened to the public and they invited me to come by and try out their Pizza Buffet.

Home Slice offers 15 different kinds of pizzas along with breadsticks, pastas, desserts, and a salad bar. The pizza dough is made fresh throughout the day. Offering fresh toppings on each pizza. Don’t see a pizza or dessert on the buffet that you want? No worries, Home Slice will make it for you. Requests are welcome.

As we approached the restaurant, the bright colors on the exterior were eye catching. My daughter was my assistant for the day. What better helper to take with me than a kiddo who loves pizza.

We entered the restaurant and were immediately greeted by a group of young workers. The interior of the restaurant was pretty wide opened. With pops of Red throughout the restaurant.

The restaurant opened at 11 and we arrived about 5 minutes till and the pizzas were being placed on the pizza bar. I jumped right in and began photographing the food and the interior.

Home Slice offers a full Salad Bar with fresh ingredients, cheeses, veggies and many options of Salad Dressings.

The Pasta bar included a few kid favorites options like spaghetti and sauce, macaroni and Lasagna.

Some of the Pizza options were Macaroni Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, and Buffalo Chicken Pizza just to name a few.

In addition to Pizza, Home Slice had dessert options as well. Cinnamon Rolls and an apple or strawberry Dessert Pizza.

One thing I noticed when we walked in was the creative art designs on the wall. I found out that all of the art graphics on the walls were created by Jessica Clay, a recent graphic design graduate of UL-Lafayette. Pretty cool.

The day we dined it was National Pineapple Day, so I asked for an Hawaiian Pizza.

I also had them to prepare a Taco Pizza since it was Taco Tuesday. I added some of my favorite toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese and jalapenos. The Taco pizza was really good.

I tried a few slices of pizza. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was good. Baby girl loved the Macaroni and Cheese Pizza.

Overall, I think that Home Slice is a good addition to the restaurant scene. There was definitely a need for a Pizza Buffet. And Home Slice doesn’t disappoint.  It’s a great kid friendly and family atmosphere.

Our dining experience was nice. The service was good. The workers were extremely nice, friendly and helpful.

Pizzas were constantly being made as the lunch crowd was coming in, which is key to keeping the crowd well fed. If the service remains good and the freshness of the food on the salad bar and pizza bar continues, Home Slice should do very well.

Home Slice Pizza is conveniently located at 1605 N University Avenue, Lafayette, Louisiana 70506. Opened daily from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Be sure to go and check out Home Slice Pizza and tell them that Da’Stylish Foodie sent you!
