Over the past few weeks, my family & I have been enjoying exploring the food scene in Houston, TX.

During one of our visits we dined at Sam’s Burgers, Fries & Pies.  Sam’s BFP is locally owned and operated.

The restaurant all started with a brand.  Sam’s grandfather was a cattle brander.  He would brand the animals with an S to show ownership of his cattle.

Sam’s is now branding the buns of every burger with the letter S.  Sam’s serves fresh, handmade patties that are well seasoned and served on the perfect bun.  There motto is fresh, never frozen, and homemade food.

As we walked into the restaurant we immediately noticed the wood tables. Some were colorful and bright with an antique look.  The tables are made with reclaimed wood from Galveston.  A great look for this family friendly restaurant.

We placed our order at the counter and we were given a number to place on our table.

Baby Boy ordered the kid dog that was served on a S hamburger bun.  An interesting way to serve a hot dog.  My little boy wasn’t interested in the buns at all.  He ate just the weiner and the fries.  The bun was a bit too large in my opinion for the weiner.

Baby girl ordered the kid’s cheeseburger which was served with meat and cheese only. There was mayo, mustard and ketchup if needed.

My husband ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich. A chili-rubbed pork with pickles and Sam’s homemade BBQ Sauce.  Served with hand-battered onion rings with cilantro jalapeno ranch.

This sandwich was delicious.  The Pulled pork was seasoned well.  I like that the BBQ sauce was served on the side which allowed you to control how much BBQ sauce you wanted on the sandwich.

The onion rings were fried golden brown.  The cilantro jalapeno ranch was delicious with the onion rings.

I ordered the Crabby Patty.  A crab and shrimp patty with lettuce, tomato,
and Cilla’s Cilantro Jalapeno Ranch. Served with the sweet potato fries and Mila’s honey mustard sauce.

The Crabby Patty was delicious.  The Cilantro Jalapeno Ranch was spicy and added a nice element of flavor to the sandwich.

The sweet potato fries were delicious with the honey mustard sauce.  My choice was superb!

Not interested in Burgers or Sandwiches?  No worries, Sam’s also serves salads.  I love that there is something for everyone at Sam’s Burgers, Fries and Pies.

In addition to sandwiches, burgers, Sam’s serves Shakes and Pies.  You don’t have to leave without satisfying your sweet tooth.

Overall, we loved our food from Sam’s Burgers Fries & Pies.  The food was made to order.  Everything was fresh, from the burgers to the sandwiches, the buns and the fries.  A kid-friendly place that serves something for the entire family.
