Mother’s Day was yesterday. This day definitely looked a bit different for us, due to Covid-19. We couldn’t travel home this year to spend time with my family.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my family. But more importantly how close my mom and I are.

Mother’s are a blessing. I am so thankful for my mom. She is such an encouragement, motivator, a ray of sunshine in my life and the life of others.

Though we couldn’t be together in person, thank goodness for Facetime.

My Mother’s Day was truly a blessing. Nothing glamorous, but very relaxing.

My morning started with breakfast in bed. My husband and daughter did a great job.

I am typically not a big eater in the morning. But I made an exception.

My daughter wrote me a lovely poem.

They presented me with gifts. I love that they know me so well. I will share what I received in a later post.

I took my time getting out of bed with a little reading, praying and devotional reading. Just a moment to be still and not worry about anything.

It was such a gorgeous day, we decided to hang outside on the patio.

No work, cleaning or cooking for me. I loved being able to enjoy moments of stillness and quiet. It was so nice.

My husband had created a secret menu for the day. All I knew is that it would consist of Seafood. Hmm.

Well let me start off by saying, my husband is a pro at Grilling and Seafood. He is quite the cook himself. Many don’t know but he is a really good cook!

We have contemplated doing cooking videos together. Hmm.. We shall see.

First up the menu was Garlic Butter Lemon Scallops

Smoke Shrimp skewers with herb melted butter (not pictured)

Grilled Lobster with Lemon Garlic Butter

Lobster Bisque Soup with Lobster Chunks

Grilled Lobster with Roasted Potatoes and Fresh Green beans

Molten Chocolate Cake

What a sweet finish to a lovely 5 course meal. It doesn’t get any better than this!

My husband served me restaurant quality service and food. He knows how much of a foodie I am and he exceeded any expectations I had.

Both my stomach and heart was full. My family did a great job with planning the day.

We watched the Michelle Obama documentary, Becoming on Netflix also. If You haven’t seen it, go watch it NOW! So good!

In closing, Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Being a mom is a hard job at times but so rewarding most of the time! May your day be filled with love, rest, relaxation and good food.

I am grateful to my husband and kids who spoil me year round! My day was wonderful.

In closing, let me share a little note of encouragement. This Mother’s Day my heart was with the ladies out there who may feel sad on Mother’s day! I can remember years ago feeling the same pain of wondering if I would ever be a mom. It was a long hard process, but God was so faithful to me! So I pray that you will feel His love as you wait! Delayed but not denied.

Lastly all of the men and women out there whose mom is deceased and no longer with you. May you feel God’s peace and comfort over you!
