My husband and I stopped in at the new Killen’s

My husband and I stopped in at the new Killen’s Barbecue location in Cypress. We first visited Killen’s BBQ in the Woodlands and we loved the food and location.
When we heard that Killen’s was coming to Cypress, we were stoked.
The new location in Cypress is really nice. We stopped in for lunch.

What we tried:

* The Beef Rib with broccoli and cheese rice and green beans. My husband loved his Beef Rib. The rib was perfect. He said the sides were just ok.
* The 2 Meat plate with Brisket and the Pork Ribs. My sides were the mac and cheese and baked beans. The food was delicious. The food portion was very generous.

Grilling season is in full effect. I love grilling season for so many reasons, one I love being outside when the weather is great. Two I love grilling steaks, burgers and so much more. Overall we just love cooking outside.
Typically we prepare our steaks on the grill. Not this time, I
purchased this Grizzler pan for the OONI Pizza oven. The Grizzler pan is made of cast iron. The Cast-iron pan with ridged surface is great for grilling meat, vegetables and more. Designed to fit all Ooni oven models. This pan is also ideal for use on all indoor cooktops or outdoor grills. Included is removable handle and beechwood serving board.

I decided to change things up with the preparation of the steak by using the grizzler pan. This pan is awesome.

Meatloaf is a classic dish that many people grew up eating. Growing up I loved meatloaf with mashed potatoes.
I switched up it up for my crew a little with my skillet meatloaf topped with creamy mashed potatoes and rosemary mushroom gravy. Oh my word. So good. A crowd pleaser.

I have a confession, I’m not much of a vegetable

I have a confession, I’m not much of a vegetable eater? I know, I know, yes I need vegetables.
But I have a few that I like.

Collard greens are an excellent source of vitamin A, C, and calcium. In addition, rich in vitamin K, and a good source of iron, vitamin B-6, and magnesium.
Collard greens are very good for you. This is something that I do eat.

Cabbage is a good source of Vitamin C, high in fiber and Vitamin K.

Collard greens + Cabbage = a very nutritious dish.

Today I’m sharing my Cajunified Collard Greens and cabbage dish.

It’s crawfish season and I’m not mad about it.

It’s crawfish season and I’m not mad about it. Seafood is my favorite thing to eat at.

My family also loves to eat crawfish. It’s that time of year and Houston is full of Seafood places that are serving crawfish. But I have to be honest not everyone knows what they are doing here in Houston. Being from Louisiana, Louisiana has some of the best Seafood places.

But man I have to say Han’s Crawfish made a name for themselves in my book.

Han’s Crawfish is a Family owned business.

The boiled seafood was well done. The crawfish and shrimp was easy to peel which means they boiled it really well.

Season wise it was ok for me. I love some heat so I added additional seasoning over the top and it was perfect.

Their coon sauce is some of the best dipping sauce I’ve had. Most people don’t know how to make a good sauce but this one was delicious.

The atmosphere was family friendly. The set up and vibe was like a crawfish boil at home. Plenty of outdoor seating and space for the kids to play.

The service was great. The line was long when we arrived but the wait wasn’t bad at all. If you go on the weekend, I recommend you arrive as soon as they open, because by the time we left it was packed. @hans_crawfish

Carvel express is a dessert shop serving up soft serve ice cream, ice cream sundaes, shakes and carvelanches.

Located in the Delta atrium of the resort. This area reminded us so much of Louisiana.

The Delta atrium also has a indoor boat ride. So cool.

In addition the Gaylord has two ice cream shops and several coffee shops.

This heath carvelanche was superb. Similar to a blizzard but better. @carvelicecream

After a morning of traveling, we wanted a quick lunch. Mexican food seemed in order. We stopped in at Solario Cantina. Solario Cantino is a Mexican restaurant located in the lovely Gaylord Opryland Resort.
Top menu items that we enjoyed:
* Agave Chipotle Wings with lime cilantro ranch.
* Pork Pozole
We also tried:
* Fish tacos was presented nicely, fish was fried nicely but lacked seasoning.
* Pulled pork tacos were decent.
* Kid’s Chicken quesadilla was pretty food.
Overall the food was average at this spot. With the exception of the Pozole and the wings which were delicious. The service was lacking. The patio area is in a gorgeous area of the resort. Be sure to sit on the patio area and enjoy the view. @gaylordoprylandresort @marriotthotels

When visiting Nashville, Hot Chicken is a must! Our driver told us Hattie B’s is one of the best.

He also recommended we check out the shopping at Fifth and Broadway. @fifthandb
The Perfect location to shop, play and Dine. There are also so many bars and restaurants in the area.
Many great stores to shop.

After a few hours of shopping we finally hopped in the line for Hattie B’s.

Hattie B’s is known for their hot chicken. But let me tell you, be prepared to wait. The line was long the entire day.

We stayed in line for about 30 minutes or so. Thankfully we chose the right time to go and eat.

Overall the food and service was excellent. Top picks of the day:

•Dark meat with medium heat. It wasn’t spicy enough for us. We would definitely do hot next time. The chicken was fried perfectly and superb flavor wise!!
•Pimento mac and cheese was delicious. Omg. Best Mac n cheese.
•Baked beans was well seasoned.
If you are in the Nashville area be sure to check it out. This area was hopping!!
