While we were in Baton Rouge we visited Reve Coffe While we were in Baton Rouge we visited Reve Coffee Lab. Reve Coffee Roasters in Lafayette was one of my favorite spot to meet friends or go get some work done. While enjoying some of the best coffee and breakfast. The Baton Rouge location is in a really nice area. The area is very similar to the Lafayette Location in River Ranch. The weather was perfect that day so we dined outside. The young lady working the register was really nice. She saw us with LSU gear and she asked our daughter if she was a student. She told her she was considering it as an option. She began telling our daughter all about the reasons LSU is a good option. Super friendly and her service was great. The food and coffee was so good. It’s Crawfish 🦞🦞Season so we had to stop in at Crawfish time for Crawfish with the family. There was a bit of wait which we expected. But the parking was managed well, the wait wasn’t bad even though we had a big party. Crawfish time still reign supreme. The crawfish was delicious. Well seasoned, big in size and the dipping sauce was superb! The service was awesome. Our waitress served our table very well! We were shopping in the Riverwalk and surrounding We were shopping in the Riverwalk and surrounding areas in New Orleans. We stopped in at Drago’s for lunch. Drago’s used to be one of our favorite places in Nola. We decided to revisit Drago’s with our kids. Drago’s was home of the original Charbroiled oysters. They had some of the best charbroiled oysters around. The last time we dined at Drago’s was over 15 years ago. I have to be honest when we walked in. The place looked exactly like it did years ago. The vibe and decor was lacking considering that it’s a Riverwalk restaurant. We started with the oysters but they weren’t that great. The oysters weren’t bubbling like most charbroiled oysters restaurants do. Disappointing. Considering that they are known for this, it should be superb and it was not. We tried a few other dishes. Our kids are starting to love Sushi. So we have be Our kids are starting to love Sushi. So we have been taking them to Sushi restaurants and teaching them all about Sushi. Yeah they are bougie 😂🤣. While we were in Louisiana we stopped in at Rock-n-Sake. Rock-n-Sake was one of my favorite sushi places when we lived in Lafayette. I didn’t know that they had a New Orleans location. The Nola location was in walking distance of our hotel in New Orleans. Be sure to check out the video to see what we tried. Sushi was so fresh and delicious! The owner was amazing. She came to the table and spoke with us and made a few other dinner recommendations for us. Really sweet lady. The food was excellent. Only complaint, the restaurant was really really dark. He was about a year old when he first visited New Orleans. He’d not been back since. Our daughter was about 6 when she last visited New Orleans for a New Orleans game. It was cool being back enjoying the food and culture with our kids. We spent a day shopping. While we were shopping we stopped in at the New Orleans location of Sneaker Politics. We were passing through Baton Rouge for another vi We were passing through Baton Rouge for another visit to the LSU campus with our teenager. After we were done, we decided to get sweet treats from Caroline’s Cookies. 🍪 I’ve heard a lot about Caroline’s Cookies from my Louisiana friends and through social media. We decide to give it a try and see for ourself. Here’s what we tried: * Chocolate chip sandwich 2 chocolate chip cookies with vanilla cream icing and festive sprinkles * Rainbow crunch fruity pebbles topped with marshmallows frosting * Cookies and cream cookie cake slice * Confetti sliced cookie cake Overall the desserts were really really good. Definitely thick and gooey like their tagline! 🤣😂 The cookies and cookie cake slices were huuuuggggeeee! You can’t eat it all in one sitting! The service was fantastic! It’s officially Crawfish season. Like many others, It’s officially Crawfish season. Like many others, I love when Crawfish season comes around. I want all things Crawfish. One of the easiest things to cook is Crawfish étouffée. I have a few versions of my étouffée. But I took a shortcut with a product from Slap ya Mama called their Cajun Étouffée sauce. This étouffée sauce makes it so easy for anyone to make Crawfish étouffée. I added a few extra things to mine but it’s delicious as is. Serve over rice with the viral fried catfish from H-E-B. If you’ve been following me any length of time, yo If you’ve been following me any length of time, you know I love a good dessert shop. There is a brand new spot, Milkshake Factory located in the Elyson subdivision. My crew and I stopped in to check out all that Milkshake Factory had to offer. Here’s what we tried: * Our son had a Milk chocolate cake pop * My husband had the Raspberry milkshake. The milk/ice cream ratio was off. Which made the consistency of the milkshake weird. * Our daughter had the Cookie brownie milkshake, superb! Consistency and taste of this one was really good. * I ordered the Strawberry shortcake Sunday. Right up my alley. Scrumptious! * We also tried some of the chocolate bark. Delicious! Make sure to pick up some. So good. Overall the everything was excellent. The service was top notch. The dessert shop was really cute. There is a nice green space outside of the shop. This movie is produced by Steph Curry. A really good family movie. If you love basketball or have kids who play basketball go see it. You won’t be disappointed. We revisited Cut! by Cinemark. Dine-in theater, kitchen and bar with stadium seats. The Cut has a new option D-Box seats. The D-Box seats allow you to not only watch the movies but you feel it. Similar to 4DX. I love the D-box seats allow you to adjust the intensity of the movement or you can cut it off completely if you don’t like it. Love this option. Red Beans Monday with BlueRunner. Red beans Monday Red Beans Monday with BlueRunner. Red beans Monday originated in Louisiana, but deeply rooted in New Orleans. Mondays were originally wash days. So we served red beans on Monday because we could put a pot of red beans on unattended while we got our laundry done. Though it’s not a tradition as much at our home. Occasionally I will serve red beans on Monday. Red beans Monday is usually prepared with dry beans but I took a shortcut with the BlueRunner canned beans. BlueRunner is the only company that has red beans that taste just like dry beans that I make myself. So flavorful. I added a few ingredients to mine. So yummy. I’m not a big fast food person, but there are a fe I’m not a big fast food person, but there are a few places, I do love. Taco Cabana is one of them. A brand new location opened in Katy. I was out running errands so I decided to stop in and check it out. Normally I order the Nachos, but I decided to try something different. I tried the Taco salad with steak with salsa ranch. Taco Cabana has new drink options, I tried the Blackberry refresher. Very yummy. Taco Cabana also has brought back their brisket menu. I tried the brisket tacos topped with onions and cilantro and a side of bbq. Get the salsa ranch instead. Delicious. Served with chips and queso.
