My Hubby recently had a birthday. One of his birth

My Hubby recently had a birthday. One of his birthday celebrations was at Whiskey Cake in Katy. Whiskey Cake is one of his favorite places to dine. One of the things that he loves is that Whiskey cake changes their menu every so often.
Here what we tried:
- [ ] Fried green tomatoes with house made remoulade sauce. The sauce was delicious. The Fried green tomatoes needed seasoning.
- [ ] Crab fritters 🔥 OMG the best of the day! It was so good we wanted to order another one. Superb!
- [ ] My husband ordered the Brunch hash he said it was delicious.
- [ ] Our son ordered the kids cheeseburger. Love the presentation of this for the kids. Great thought went into it.
- [ ] Our daughter ordered the Chicken and Cheese melt. A delicious sandwich.
- [ ] I ordered the Fish and Chips. This is a new menu item. The fish was fried nicely. Loved the presentation and the portion size.
- [ ] We also tried two free spirited drinks, P.T.O and Ruby Slippers
- [ ] We finished the meal with the Whiskey Cake. A Must try. Omg. 😋😋
Our dining experience was great. Food and service was exceptional!

Oxtails are a popular meat in our home. My husband and I grew up eating this as kids. The crazy thing is that oxtails used to be much cheaper than they are now. Why? Because so many chefs are using oxtails in dishes.
Recently I prepared braised oxtails in my instant pot. Head Country has slow cooker seasoning that’s very flavorful and was delicious on the oxtails. @headcountrybbq

Weekends are for Brunch. If you are looking for a brunch spot in Cypress, be sure to check out the Flying Biscuit Cafe. A new breakfast/brunch spot that recently opened.
My friend and I stopped in this week to check it out. The Flying Biscuit Cafe has several locations across Texas.
Here’s what we tried:
* My friend tried the Piedmont Omelette and the Mocha latte
* I tried the Stuffed French toast breakfast, OMG the best French toast that I’ve ever had. Definitely the star of the day! The raspberry sauce and crème anglaise was incredible.
Overall the food was delicious. My only complaint was that the sage chicken sausage was hard and dry. But other than that. Everything else was a hit. The service was really good.
If you are looking for a spot to catch up with friends, I definitely recommend this spot. I had a blast kekeing and just catching up with my friend. Life can get busy sometimes but taking time to slow down and catching up with friends does something for your soul. Happy Saturday! Make today a good one!

There are some evenings we return home late. Whether it’s because of a Basketball game or Taekwondo. Some days I need a quick meal to serve my crew. I’m not big on fast food, so I try my best to prepare something hearty and tasty at home. I picked up this yummy soup from H-E-B and the other ingredients. It was so easy and dinner was on the table in less than 20 minutes.
Who doesn’t love a good soup?. I fancied up the soup by serving the soup in a bread bowl.

H-E-B has a delicious Lasagna soup with turkey sausage. This is so easy. Heat and serve in a garlic butter bowl.

Super Bowl LIX is officially done. I’m shocked that it wasn’t more of a competitive game, but the Philadelphia Eagles played an incredible game! Congrats to the new Super Bowl champs!
We had quite a busy Sunday yesterday but we made a few appetizers in honor of the big game.

I have to say the new Sweet and Sour wing sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings was so good!!! The Garlic Parmesan was a hit with the kids.

Now that Football season is over! Who’s ready for March Madness. Our house is. From my husband to the kiddos, we are ready!

Looking to keep it simple this Super bowl! This Triple Meat Italian Sub sandwich is the way to go. This is my version of an Italian Sub sandwich. Loaded with Turkey, Ham, Colby Jack cheese, pepperoni and provolone cheese with mayo, spicy mustard topped with a mixture of lettuce, tomatoes, Italian jalapeños, Italian seasoning and Italian dressing. All on a toasted Italian sub bread. So good. A hit with the kiddos. Served these in boats with a paper lining. Easy cleanup. Link in the bio.

There is a new restaurant in Cypress, Aji Izakaya. My husband and I stopped in with our teenager for lunch last Friday. @aji_izakaya_cypress
Aji Izakaya serves delicious Japanese food. Aji blends their passion for making delicious food with their extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine to create authentic and classic dishes for your enjoyment.
The restaurant decor gives you the feeling that you have been whisk away to Japan.
Here’s what we tried:

* Sweet chili chicken karaage - fried chicken thighs with sweet chili sauce and sesame seeds. This dish was incredible!!
* Gyoza were delicious
* Sizzling Bulgogi Kimchi Marinade beef sauteed with kimchi and gochujang this sizzling beef dish was very tasty. My only complaint was that the kimchi should have been in smaller pieces. But the dish was really good.
* My husband ordered the lunch sushi special. The Sushi chef chooses for you, it comes with salmon rolls and his choice and an egg roll, gyozas and salad.
* Our teenager ordered the Ramen lunch special, Spicy Miso Ramen. Really good
Overall the food was superb. The service was decent. The vibe of the restaurant was really nice. It felt like we were in Japan. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Chicken thighs have the most flavor. I prefer chicken thighs over chicken breast any day. One of my favorite ways to prepare my chicken thighs is my easy Italian dressing chicken. I’ve been preparing this for a long time for my family. It’s such an easy dish to prepare. Pair with seasoned rice, green beans or your favorite sides.

Friday night my guys and I checked out an Ice cream spot, Handel’s. 🍦🍨🍦
Handel’s is a family owned business that serves homemade ice cream that’s made fresh daily.
Here’s what we tried:
* Banana Split
* Blue Monster on a chocolate dipped cone
* Strawberry cheesecake hurricane (similar to a blizzard)
Everything was delicious. This was some of the best Ice cream we’ve had here in Texas. Be sure to add this to your list dessert shop to your list.

Louisiana fish fry is making it easy for you on game day with their Chicken fry batter. The batter is already seasoned and easy to use. We added a little more seasoning because we like it SPICY but this was so easy to use. @lafishfry

I’m not much of a rice eater but there are some meals that you just can’t eat without rice. It’s just not the same, Shrimp and egg stew is one of those dishes.
Shrimp and egg stew is a warm bowl of goodness. It’s a super easy meal that can be prepared in 20 minutes or so.

The tuna in this bowl is prepared with the NEW Chicken of the Sea Old Bay Tuna. This tuna has a nice kick and is perfect in this bowl.

If I’m honest I don’t really revisit many restaurants because Houston is so big. We have so many amazing places to eat so I try to patronize as many as I can. But there is one restaurant I tried during a media night and I wanted to bring my husband to try. The Red Chicz has some of the best, tasty, crispy chicken I’ve ever had. I took my husband to lunch there last week and it was as good as I remembered.
My top items are the Fried jumbo Shrimp with glow seasoning and comeback sauce. The cheese curds with glow seasoning. Don’t sleep on the chipotle corn ribs 🔥. Of course the chicken tenders with spark seasoning with comeback sauce or the chipotle ranch. The food, the service and the staff is amazing! Go check them out. @theredchickz
