I’ve been testing new healthy recipes on my crew I’ve been testing new healthy recipes on my crew. This Turkey burger was really good. The kids even enjoyed it which was shocking with the veggies in the burger. I need to work on the burger plating but the burger was delicious. Served with sweet potato fries sprinkled with cinnamon and I drizzled a little honey on top. Superb. A healthy option to burgers. 📸: the Patty was made with Ground Turkey, roasted red peppers, sautéed spinach, Mediterranean feta cheese, cajun seasoning and gochujang chili sauce. Topped with havarti cheese on a toasted brioche bun. Sometimes after a long week, everyone can use a li Sometimes after a long week, everyone can use a little treat. We stopped in on Friday at the new Sweet shop in the area, SweetCup. SweetCup is a cute sweet shop serving up gelato and sorbet. Cute spot to grab desserts with friends or with the family. They have lots of flavors to choose from. They are newly opened. Here’s what we tried: * I ordered the Texas Sheet cake sundae. This was ok. I have to say before this I had no idea what the Texas sheet cake was. Where I’m from a sheet cake is thin. This was just a brownie and it was too think and dry. Wasn’t a fan. * S’mores Sundae was almost exactly the same as the Texas sheet cake sundae. Only difference was the pecans replaced with a toasted marshmallows. In my opinion two chocolate sundaes wasn’t a good idea. Maybe offering a strawberry one. Use a pound cake as the base. Just my opinion. * Our son ordered a Orangesicle with waffle chip. Delicious. * I decided to order 2 scoops in a cup, Banana pudding and strawberry gelato topped with fresh strawberries and cheesecake chunks. This was excellent! So good! * Our teenager ordered the Chocolate gelato topped with Brookie pieces. She loved it. Overall it was a great dining experience. The girls working there were awesome. Kind and attentive. The dessert shop is cute on the inside. It’s not very big but there is seating inside and out. One of my complaints is that there wasn’t milkshakes. Most dessert shops offer milkshakes. But I saw that they recently added to the menu. So I will have to go try it. I love that there was a variety of flavors. These sneakers are filled with playful and seasonal touches. Really cute. I picked these up for our teenager. The mint laces add a nice touch to these. The sneakers look like an Easter basket. My Hubby and I stoped at a South African restauran My Hubby and I stoped at a South African restaurant. Astor’s Table is Serving farm to table dishes. You will enjoy a culinary journey when dining at Astor’s table. Their menu offers Gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and dairy free options. Here’s what we tried: * Spicy Fried African chicken empanadas with a dipping sauce, delicious * Fresh African lemonade was tasty * South African style fried calamari, fried perfectly served with ketchup. The calamari was crunch and fried perfectly. Dipping sauce should have been different. Some type of remoulade or seafood dipping sauce. * Angola fried fish with Nigerian jollof rice wow this dish knocked my socks off. This was my first time having jollof! Spicy goodness. Paired with fried fish! Perfect combination * Grandma loving oxtails wowzers!! Made us want to lick the plates it was that good! The oxtails were so tender. Served with rice and plantains. Incredible! The food and service was exceptional. Stuffed roast is something we grew up eating. It w Stuffed roast is something we grew up eating. It was normally a Sunday dinner. I was craving this during the week. This is such an easy dinner. I stuffed my roast with diced onions, bell peppers, garlic, vinegar and Cajun seasoning. Refrigerate overnight. Baked in the oven on low for a couple of hours. So tender. I used my brand new Zakarian by Dash 9” X 13” Nonstick Cast Iron Baker available in Blue. I saw Chef G. Zakarian cooking with this pan on his Instagram. I have to say this is a really good baking pan! But it’s multifunctional grilling, frying, broiling and searing. Really how I’ve always been. I share Fashion Friday every week as an opportunity to share some of my favorite things. A company called Ashro reached out to me about a collaboration. I was so excited to style some of their pieces. Ashro Fashions specializes in Afrocentric fashion selling a variety of clothing including dresses, pants, coordinating sets, shirts, pant suits, fashion accessories and much more. I love their Leila Pant set with black woven slides and accessorized with the Adeba double knot handbag and Zula necklace. This outfit was comfortable and lightweight. A Very free flowing set. I sure hope that everyone had a blessed Easter wee I sure hope that everyone had a blessed Easter weekend. ✝️ Our weekend was filled with lots of fun things. From Crawfish with friends, Good Friday service to a basketball tournament and a powerful Sunday Easter service at our local Church.  Followed by a filling BBQ lunch and a 2 hour afternoon nap yesterday. It was a great weekend!  We stopped in at the 2nd location of Ragin Cajun in Spring Branch.  Friday was Good Friday and we always eat crawfish on that day. We wanted to try somewhere new. One of the reasons we chose this spot is because we wanted a place with a nice patio, a spot that served other food besides Crawfish and they must serve dip with their Crawfish. Yep! I’m from Louisiana.  Here are my thoughts on Ragin Cajun’s 2nd location. A really nice spot. The restaurant gives you a Louisiana vibe. Their patio was welcoming, comfortable and breezy. The service overall was really good. The food for the most part was good. Some ordered poboys, grilled fish platters but the majority ordered Boiled Seafood. Overall the seafood was boiled good and easy to peel. But the crawfish wasn’t seasoned on the inside. I think they needed to soak their crawfish a little longer. So the season could really get in the crawfish and/or season the water more. We like our seafood well seasoned. The dip was superb. Well done! Our teen ordered the Cajun boiler. Really really good.  Be sure to get some dessert before you leave. Delicious. Offering authentic dishes, including Peking duck, in Katy Asia Town. Here’s what we tried: * Spicy wonton * Soft-Shell Crab Fried Rice * Sizzling black pepper beef * XO Wok Fried Seafood * Young Chow Fried Rice Top dishes the Soft Shell Crab Fried Rice, Spicy Wonton and Sizzling black pepper beef. These dishes were packed with flavor! Superb! The soft shell Crab fried rice was unique! The service was average. Our waiter wasn’t very friendly and seemed distracted. The restaurant decor was beautiful. But overall the experience was pretty good. We had a 2 bedroom suite with 3 bathrooms, full kitchen, 3 patios and a living room and coffee bar area. This was one of the best suites we’ve stayed in. The room service at this resort was top notch! The food was superb. Our kids loved this suite. The patio areas were my favorite. Great views of the resort. Comfy and cozy. Full stock fridge and snacks daily. If you travel with kids, you know how important it is for them to have their own space. This suite had this. This is great choice when traveling with kids or multiple couples. I love a good sweet treat. Weekends are my time fo I love a good sweet treat. Weekends are my time for a treat. Bluebell has a new flavor, Strawberry Toaster Pastry. These ice cream consist of strawberry pastry pieces, colorful confetti sprinkles, and swirls of strawberry sauce and white icing.. Topped with whipped cream and a hot strawberry pop-tart. My crew and I went and check out the new location My crew and I went and check out the new location for Hans. Hans Crawfish has been a favorite of ours for a few years now. They moved locations so we decided to go check it out. My family and I arrived a little after they opened on Friday night. Han’s is located at The Barn. There is plenty of outdoor seating but the crawfish is served out of a food truck. Their other location was definitely much better and more family friendly. But we came for the crawfish. So what was our thoughts? The Crawfish was boiled well and easy to peel. I wish it was spicer but they had additional seasoning that I poured on top. The sides were just ok. Potatoes lacked seasoning. The coon dipping sauce wasn’t as good as I remembered. Too much mayo. We also had shrimp and the shrimp was really food. Overall the crawfish was pretty good. The crawfish were a really good size. The atmosphere isn’t as family friendly as the old location, but there was plenty of seating.
