While in Lafayette a month ago, we had to stop at Deano’s for dinner with mom. Deano’s is a great place for families to dine. We were seated in back room where most families are seated. There were a few parties going on in the back are. Louisiana culture is what I miss. Everyone is so nice. The people hosting the party near us even gave us some cake. 😂😂 That’s one of things I miss about Louisiana just the friendliness of the people. Here’s what we ate at Deano’s: * Crawfish nachos * Muffalatta Perfectione * Cheeseburger salad Love this idea, plating needed help * Dean-O’s lasagna * Cajun executioner- my favorite 🔥 * Tee-Rex Pizza Overall the food was really good. Just as good as we remembered before moving 8 years ago. The service was just ok. Not as good as it used to be. We were in Louisiana for a funeral. When we arrive We were in Louisiana for a funeral. When we arrived, we stopped in for a quick lunch at the brand NEW Walk-ons in Carencro, LA. Walk-ons is a very popular restaurant that originated in Louisiana and has expanded to other areas like Texas. There is a Lafayette location now a Carencro location. The waitress told us that they had only been open 10 days when we dined. Overall the service was pretty good. The food was delicious. The only complaint was the wait time for our food. But with the restaurant being open for only 10 days that’s not bad. Here’s what we tried: * My hubby tried the Voodoo shrimp and grits. Said idea was good but he didn’t like the sweet chili with the dish. But the shrimp and the grits was good. Sauce didn’t pair well. * I tried the Rajin’ Redfish which included blackened redfish over rice with a crawfish cream sauce. Good choice. * Our daughter had the Cajundillas were superb! Dish of the day. A quesadilla with a cajun spin! * Our son had a scholarship burger. The burger was huge and tasty. With football season here! When we travel it’s imperative to us that we find something that everyone will love. A cruise checks all of the boxes. The Icon of the Seas Royal Caribbean cruise ship is huuugggee! With so many unique places on the cruise ship. Surfside is for families. Kids of all ages will love Surfside. From Arcades, candy store to shopping, to a water area with a slide, pool, there is even a unique restaurant to dine at. No need to leave the area at all. There is also this really cool bar called Lemon Post Bar. The menu even has drinks in pouches for the kids. So cool. My favorite bar on the cruise ship. We hung out in that area while our son played. On our way back home we stopped at a new spot that opened near Elyson subdivision, Yoshi Sushi and Asian Fusion. My kids are obsessed with sushi. Every week they have to get their Sushi fix. Yoshi Sushi is a really cute new sushi spot that has Asian fusion. I love that there menu had a good variety of food option. Here’s what we tried: * Shrimp tempura * Combination fried rice with pork, chicken and shrimp delicious * Gyoza * My son had the spider roll delicious, cute presentation * I had the Las Vegas roll good but lacked texture * They have great lunch specials, my daughter order the Maki Lunch that included 2 sushi rolls and soup Overall the service was superb! The food was really good. It’s a spot that you can visit often and try many different items. They also have a drive thru which is awesome. They are 8 minutes from us! One of the things that I have been working on even before my birthday was being more intentional about my health. A few months ago I invested in this NEW smart bottle, Hidrate Spark Pro 2 Water Bottle. This smart water bottle has sipsense technology which has a drink tracker. As well as a drink reminder. On our plane ride home with @united I ordered a grocery order with the my @heb app. Made it so easy to place my order and get everything I needed to be delivered right to our front door. These HEB pork ribs were seasoned with H-E-B rib seasoning and smoked on the grill. Sauced the ribs with the HEB Kansas City style barbecue sauce. Served with the bbq baked beans, roll, pickles and the NEW HEB Dill pickle potato salad. This potato salad was delicious. Makes a great side with ribs or fried seafood.
