Sunday afternoons are often the days we venture out to new restaurants.

This past Sunday we tried Local Foods Market. Local Foods Market is a fast casual restaurant serving dishes that are made with local, fresh ingredients. Each dish is made daily from scratch with flavors that keep you coming back.

The vibe on the outside was everything. The umbrellas, lights and open air space made it feel like we were in Sunny California. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining.

We grabbed a menu and decided what we wanted to order.

I have to tell you,  arrive early or you may be waiting a while for a table. If you want to sit outside that is. There was plenty of seating inside. We arrived at the perfect time and were able to grab a table.

I tried the Strawberry Agave Lemonade. Really yummy.

Our son ordered the Chicken Meatballs kid’s meal. The kid’s meal included housemade chicken meatballs, carrots, broccoli and cucumbers with hummus. A great option for kids. My son really enjoyed this meal.

Our daughter ordered the Kid’s Grilled cheese with pickles. Pretzel bun and Provolone cheese. The pretzel bun was soft and very good. She loved it.

My husband ordered the Gulf Seafood Sandwich.

This dish was made with Shrimp & Blue Crab, tomato, pickled onion, lettuce, ranch and ciabatta sandwich. This sandwich was delicious.

I ordered the Banh Mi sandwich. My sandwich included grilled falcon ranch pork, pickled onions, jalapenos, cilantro, sambal, aioli on a french baguette.

This Banh Mi was delicious. The pork was superb. The sauce married well with all of the ingredients. Really good.

The bread was lightly toasted. The bread held up with against the ingredients. A superb sandwich.

In addition to sandwiches Local Foods serves Salads, brunch options, Vegan options, desserts and more.

I am not a health fanatic,  but I love a spot that can serve healthy food that taste good and do it right. Excellent job.

Local Foods is a spot to grab your girlfriends, family or friends for hours of brunch/lunch or dinner fun.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and food at Local Foods.

Local Foods has a few locations, we visited the location in Upper Kirby. Located at 2555 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77019.

The Hours of operation are Daily from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
