It’s Football Season which means delicious food. W It’s Football Season which means delicious food. We love to BBQ during football season.   My product spotlight is Mantis BBQ. Mantis BBQ has a brand new product, “The Devil’s in the Datil”. The NEW Mantis BBQ is a “Hot BBQ  sauce that brings an explosion of citrus from the Datil peppers. I don’t know if it’s just us, but I feel like we s I don’t know if it’s just us, but I feel like we started the New Year running. I am learning this New Year to take a day to do something for myself each week. Whether it’s to do my nails, pedicure, lunch or visit a place that I’ve wanted to try. Life can become busy but we must take time to make sure we are taking good care of ourselves. Recently, I stopped in at Luce Avenue Coffee Roaster in Cypress. If you don’t know this about me, I love a good coffee shop. I spent an hour working on some new content, organizing and planning with my NEW Sister Circle Planner. I try to take 30 minutes to an hour to plan my week and month has helped me with my content, goal planning and organizing my LIFE. @thesistercircle Luce Avenue is a cute coffee shop with lots of coffee options, breakfast and lunch. The coffee shop is super cute. Luce had different styles of seating options available for the customers. When I arrived, the coffee shop was packed. So I sat in the lounge chairs with tables. Chairs were comfortable. After about 25 minutes a table freed up. @lucecoffeehouston Here’s what I tried: * Iced Caramel Macchiato * Bacon, Egg and cheese Danish * I also ordered a few Beef Empanadas to go. I have to say they were delicious. I loved my time at Luce Avenue. The service was really good. My husband and I had to attend a funeral on Friday My husband and I had to attend a funeral on Friday. After the funeral we stopped in for lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Cheesecake Factory has a brand new location in Cypress. The new location opened a few months ago. We finally had a chance to stop in and try it. The Cypress location is located in the Outlet mall in Cypress. Great location. Here’s what we tried: * Strawberry lemonade - tasty but super sweet * Crispy Rice Cakes with Crab - Love the creativity. It was pretty good but would have been better with mayo a little spicy mayo drizzle or something crunchy for texture. * Teriyaki Salmon Bowl - Overall a good dish, too much rice for the bowl. * Thai Chili Shrimp - Loved this appetizer * Jamaican Black Pepper Shrimp - This dish was superb. Really unique dish for Cheesecake Factory. Delicious * Pineapple Cherry Limeade - drink was good but definitely didn’t look like the picture * Strawberry cheesecake - delicious, only complaint plating would have been nicer with either strawberry drizzle or sliced strawberries. Strawberries were too chunky. You can’t leave without having cheesecake 😋😋 Overall the service was really good. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. The restaurant had the typical vibe of a Cheesecake Factory with a nice outdoor space. This will be nice for Spring. The patio is heated as well. So you can sit year round. I’m continuing my car shopping journey with you gu I’m continuing my car shopping journey with you guys. The one I’m sharing today was top of my list initially when I was planning to stick with a gas powered car. The BMW X7 is the ultimate driving machine and honestly one of the best family vehicles. I loved the drive of this vehicle. Years ago I owned a BMW X5 and I absolutely loved it. The drive was amazing. I have a need for speed. So the X5 was right up my alley. If they had the X7 years ago I would have purchased it. So I decided to check out the X7. I loved the drive of this one, the inside had captain seats, comfy, the exterior blue was pretty, loved the low profile tires. Really cool looking vehicle, drove great. After driving this one I realized that I wanted to go with something smaller. The drive was amazing on this one and it was really nice. The service at the Katy BMW location was terrible. So if I would have wanted a BMW I would’ve definitely not purchased there. Which was shocking because normally service at BMW is great. This week’s post is of the NEW Nike Mind 001 Slide. These released last week. Sold out in all colors in a matter of minutes 🤯🤯 Nike has been working on these for years. Mind 001 is Nike’s newest creation, designed by neuroscientist. It’s been said that they can make you more Calmer, focused and in the moment. Will these replace everyday slides, crocs or Yeezy’s? Possibly! My thoughts they are visually cool looking. Futuristic look and I love the styling. They were comfy to me. I purchased these for my daughter. She said they were comfortable pre game, and she said she wouldn’t admit that she was more focused and relaxed. She said she was surprised how comfy they were. They are loud on basketball courts. She jokingly said she felt like Squidward from SpongeBob with the noise that it made😂😂😂. Kind of funny. Reset in rest, reset in finances, reset our schedule, plans, etc. One of things that we reset at the top of every year is our spending. We reset by setting our budget for the year, we start discussing our vacation plans for Spring Break and Summer vacation. This allows us to reset our finances after the holidays. One of things we do in resetting our finances is we make a decision to avoid eating out as much during the week. Which means I may have to make some of our favorite things at home. My crew and I were in Katy last weekend and we stopped at the Katy Food Hall for lunch. We had never been to a Bun Slut location so we decided to try it out. We had a great time in Tyler, TX. On our way out o We had a great time in Tyler, TX. On our way out of the area, we stopped at a cute spot called Roost. Roost is serving up handcrafted meals. Their menu consist of Chicken salad with 9 different versions, sandwiches, southern salads, an all day breakfast menu and delicious sweet treats. It was such a cute spot. Here’s what we tried: Fruity pebbles cinnamon roll - cinnamon roll was huge! Pretty good. Kid’s Mac n cheese - similar to Kraft and cheese but our son loved it. Double scoop Southern chicken salad - this one had a slight kick from the jalapeño, would have really been southern by seasoning with either old bay seasoning or slap ya mama.But it was good. Served on toasted white bread. The Roasted Poblano Soup was superb. Perfect for that overcast, cold day. Husband had the Double scoop roost chicken salad on toasted white bread - classic chicken salad, pretty good. We took the dishes to go, but the staff was really nice and they packed everything nicely in the bag.. This Mediterranean style flatbread was a hit at home. Even my picky teenager ate it. So it’s always a win when everyone loves the meal. I’m back with another car review. As I stated in m I’m back with another car review. As I stated in my last review, I’m on the hunt for a new vehicle. The big dilemma do we need two 7 seaters or should I get something smaller and cooler 😂😂 since our teen has her own whip 😂 Next on the list Cadillac IQ vs Vistiq. I don’t have footage on the IQ because I test drove this one months ago and just wanted to see since it was newly released. My honest opinion. The IQ is awesome. A really visually nice vehicle. But it’s massive! But comfy, cozy and the kids loved it. Plus it was all electric. Love that! But I wasn’t sure for several reasons, it’s huge, it’s over $120,000. That’s crazy. That’s a rental property or a beach house. So I wasn’t sold. A few months later I test drove the Vistiq and it was like a baby Escalade IQ. Everything you love about the IQ but smaller and compact version. Plus it’s electric as well. The vehicle had a version of self driving similar to the Tesla. The vehicle is really nice. Well done, price for Vistiq’s start at $65,000 much more reasonably price. They had a few options style wise on the Vistiq. I liked the Sport Model Vistiq The top model the Platinum was $85,000 or so. Which is not bad for a 7 seater. I came close to getting this one but it didn’t feel like me. It was still a 7 seater but not as big. I’m not longer in the car pool phase of parenting. So I decided against it. It was hard because the salesman I had was amazing. He was really good but it just wasn’t the right fit for Me. I have to say any families looking for an electric SUV should look at this one. My crew and I were shopping in memorial city yesterday. We stopped in for lunch at the new Katz’s location. Crazy to believe that we’ve been here in Texas almost 8 years and we’ve never been to Katz’s. Here’s what we tried: * Watermelon Sparkling refresher * Korean meatballs with pineapple slaw - appetizer was ok. Meatballs needed to be sauced evenly. The slaw balanced well with the gochujang sauce. Overall a pretty good appetizer. * I ordered the shrimp and sausage pastalya, I was disappointed with the pasta. Pasta was dry and wasn’t sauced well. The dish seemed rushed. Which shouldn’t have been because the restaurant wasn’t packed. As someone from Louisiana I know what this dish should’ve taste like. I did mention it to the waiter he bought more sauce out. I just took it to go. * Our son ordered the kids cheese pizza and fries. He enjoyed the dish. * Our daughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo pasta. The dish was presented well. Pasta was saucy and the chicken was cooked perfectly. * My husband ordered the chopped steak. Grilled beef patty served on a bed of mashed potatoes and topped with grilled onions and gravy. With a side of succotash. He enjoyed the dish. The patty was falling apart a little. Also wasn’t prepared to the Temp requested. But it was tasty. * We ended the dish with their famous cheesecake milkshake with strawberries and strawberry sauce. This milkshake was delicious. Overall the Katz’s is a beautiful restaurant. The taste of the dishes were really good. But the plating and dish preparations needed work. I will give them some grace maybe they were tired from working for Christmas the day before. But they should serve every dish with high quality. The service was really good. Favorite dishes were the milkshake and the chicken Alfredo. I will go back to try their brunch/breakfast menu. I have officially been on the hunt for a new vehic I have officially been on the hunt for a new vehicle. I’ve had my current vehicle, 2017 Infiniti QX80. That car has been amazing. I’ve loved driving it. Comfortable, spacious and lots of horsepower! We’ve had No major issues or anything. It’s been amazing for road trips, traveling to tournaments with our kids, going back and forth from Louisiana to Texas. My vehicle had over 100,000 miles so it’s time to say bye. The big dilemma that I’ve had as I searched for a new vehicle is should I downsize to something smaller now that we have a teenager driver who has her own car and doesn’t ride with us much anymore? My husband already has a 7 seater so I don’t need another vehicle with a 7 seater. One thing I do know is that I want to go Electric Hmmm. Over the next few weeks I will share some of the favorite vehicles I’ve driven and what I’ve loved. First up, the Lucid Gravity. The Lucid Gravity is a 7 seater, electric families that are for families. It’s a top contender with the Tesla. Here’s what I loved, comfortable ride, spacious, smooth, multifunctional driving modes, high tech and lots more. I didn’t like that the second row didn’t have captain seats, no rear entertainment and it felt like a mini van even though it had sport mode. Priced Over $100,000 It will be a great options for mom’s who want an electric vehicle. The also have the Lucid Air which is the car option that’s really nice. Milkshakes are my favorite desserts. I love making Milkshakes are my favorite desserts. I love making peppermint milkshakes at home for my family. H-E-B has a Candy Cane ice cream. Now let me be honest, Blue Bell ice cream is normally my go to ice cream brand. I was a little hesitant to try H-E-B’s ice cream but I’m glad that I did. They have some of my favorite flavors like Banana nut, strawberry cheesecake, lemon bar and now this Candy Cane ice cream. It made the best Holiday milkshake. Superb.
