A few weeks ago, after a quick walk around the neighborhood. When we were done, the kiddos washed up and they prepared their own supper.
Since we have been under the Stay at Home order, the kiddos have taken a big interest in cooking. Which is awesome, because I have some help.
They recently prepared Pigs in A Blanket all by themselves. I showed them how to do a few and they were able to do it by themselves.
Pigs in A Blanket is something we loved as kids growing up. So easy and quick to prepare. Serve alone or with chili or chips. So yummy.
Fun Fact: According to Mobile Cuisine.com, The term “pigs in a blanket” often refers to hot dogs, Vienna sausages, cocktail or breakfast/link sausages wrapped in biscuit dough, pancake, or croissant dough, and baked. The first written record of pigs in a blanket occurs in Betty Crocker’s Cooking for Kids in 1957.

Pigs in A Blanket
Ingredients
- 1 14 oz Eckrich L'il Smokies
- 8 Kraft Sliced cheese
- 1 8 oz Crescent Rolls
- Pam Spray
- Baking Pan
- Cutting Boards
- Pizza Cutters

- Crescent Rolls
- Sliced Cheddar Cheese
- Eckrich Li'l Smokies
- Pam Spray
- Baking Pan
- Cutting Board
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
- Spray the pan with Pam.
- Pop open the can of crescent rolls.
- Unroll the rolls. Separate each piece along the perforated lines.
- Cut each into two pieces long ways.
- Unwrap the sliced cheese.
- Cut into two pieces long ways.
- Place cheese on top of the widest part of the dough, add li'l smokies (1), roll tightly with the end of smallest part of the crescent roll on top.
- Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Serve with a chips, a side salad or chili. Kid's will love this.
