My husband and I had our weekly Lunch Date this past Friday. We stopped in at a new spot called Thaicoon. Thaicoon is a Thai restaurant that has infusion of Vietnamese cuisine.
With a vibrant decor, easy going restaurant with a nice bar area and nice layout.
The menu is filled with items like curry, noodles, rice dishes and so many more creative dishes.
Here’s what we tried:
* Salmon Skin Chips a great appetizer option. creative idea.
* Firecracker Shrimp, saw this appetizer being made on a cooking show. I was excited to try it. Really good. Love it with the dipping sauce.
* Lobster Papaya salad is a unique salad that’s cold but with a steamed lobster. Nice balance of flavors. Wish it was seasoned a little more but it was tasty.
* Steamed fish with Lime chili sauce Chinese celery, cilantro, red onion, lime and ginger and whole striped bass with spicy lime and garlic sauce. A unique dish. Cool presentation. The dish lacked seasoning. I think it would have paired better with fried rice instead of white rice. But overall decent dish. Really cool steamed, fire presentation.
Overall we loved our dining experience at Thaicoon. Service was decent. They have room for improvement. The food was all made to order. Everything arrived piping hot. The food overall was good. Their menu has a variety of options to choose from Noodles, to rice to seafood and curry as well.

Every week we have a Pasta Night. For several reasons, one it’s quick, I have kids who are athletes who want a hearty meal and what kid doesn’t love Pasta. 🍝
On the nights my son has football practice a quick meal is what’s on the menu. This Pasta dish took me less than 30 minutes to prepare. Busy nights don’t have to mean fast food stops but it can mean fast cooking food at home! @barillaus

It’s Monday, it feels like the weekend flew bye! Mondays are always busy for dinner I usually prepare quick meals.
This meal took less than 30 minutes.

Here is my BBQ burger with beef patties, cheese, bbq sauce, smoky bbq pickles, spicy mustard and crunchy loops. So yummy 🍔🍔

I used these in place of fried onion rings. A great snack alternative as well. You can’t even tell it’s made of lentils. Great flavor.

My hubby and I love Sushi. We stopped in at a new spot in Katy called Shing Ya Izakaya sushi 🍣
Here’s what we tried:
* Edadame
* Fried shrimp tempura with spicy mayo
* Heart attack roll - delicious
* Play Girl Roll - this one was my favorite
* Katy roll was unique, a tuna roll topped with a salad with fresh raw fish and a dressing. My hubby loved this one. I’m not a big raw eater.

Overall we loved our dining experience. The service and hospitality was top notch. The food was really good.

My mom was in town last week. It was so good to have her in town.
We enjoyed alot of girl time, shopping, eating, exploring Houston and just enjoying her company.
Last week we stopped in for lunch at Postino in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.

Here’s what we tried:
* Prickly pear lemonade delicious
* Blackberry smash mom said it wasn’t sweet enough.
* Crispy Cauliflower this cauliflower is superb! So good. A must try!
* Shrimp Scampi loved this dish! Well done. Well balanced flavors.
* Nick’s Board a uniquely made board. The board presentation was a little sloppy but the ingredients were good.

We’ve been to one of their other locations and absolutely loved it. But I think the food at this location was way better!
Postino is a spot that you go to dine with family and friends to just sit and catch up. Great atmosphere and yummy food. The service was just ok to me.
Postino has a great patio area that overlooks the green space. Perfect for beautiful day. @postinowinecafe

My husband and I recently celebrated 20 years of marriage. It’s crazy to believe that it’s been that long. But there is no one I would rather be doing life with.
We have a big trip coming up in the Summer. I can’t wait.
One thing that we’ve always loved as a couple is a massage. My husband setup a lovely spa day for us at Escape Spa.

Fridays are my husband and I lunch date days. We visited a local Garden Center for plants and decided to grab lunch right afterwards. We decided to try this new spot that we stumbled on called “Patis & Toyo”.
My Hubby and I love trying new restaurants together so we were excited to try this spot.
As you know Houston is an area filled with lots of different cuisines. Patis & Toyo is a Filipino restaurant. Patis is fish sauce and toyo is soy sauce. Which are two essential ingredients for Filipino restaurants.
Filipino food is meant to be served family style. So we ordered a few things and shared everything.
Here’s what we tried:
* Guyabano juice this fruit juice was delicious.
* Complimentary shrimp chips are delivered to every table. These crispy chips were incredible. Loved the tangy, vinegary condiment that was served with the shrimp chips. Paired perfectly together.
* Crispy Pehe is mini soft shelled crabs that are fried and served with a sweet chili sauce. Excellent appetizer.
* Sizzling Pork Sisig is fried pork belly with chilies, calamansi and onions with garlic fried rice. Pretty good dish. When you think of fried rice, Filipino fried rice is not the rice we generally eat. It’s more like fragrant garlic rice. But it was good with the dish. The crispy pork belly was good.
* Pancit Bihon stir fried rice noodles with pork and shrimp. Absolutely delicious. Light but flavorful noodle dish. Really good and huge portion. We had enough to take home for our kids to enjoy.
* Bistek Tagalog beef braised in soy sauce, calamansi and onions. This dish was the best of the day. Flavorful, well balanced flavors and tasted like a home cooked meal that grandma made. The meat was so tender. Really really good!
Overall our dining experience was really good. The service was pretty good. The food was exceptional. It’s different but really good. The restaurant isn’t that big but it’s nicely decorated. @patistoyorestaurant
