My mom was in Houston last week for a visit and we met downtown.  After leaving the downtown area we stopped in to have lunch at Dish Society.

Dish Society has several restaurants across Houston, but we visited the Heights location.

Creating dishes that are made with quality and fresh ingredients from local farms and businesses. The menu is ever changing depending on the season. But more importantly healthy items with a twist.

The vibe of the restaurant was very laid back. I loved the modern decor.

With counter service during breakfast, brunch and lunch and full table service during dinner.

We arrived right between the brunch and lunch time frame. As we entered, we were greeted by a sweet young lady. She welcomed us and shared with us a little about the menu and made a few recommendations.

After our orders were placed we were seated and waited for our dishes to arrive.

My mom wanted to try their coffee, so she had a Caramel Latte. A smooth cup of coffee. Pretty good.

We started with the Fried Smoked Gouda Grit Balls. The balls were grits made with gouda cheese that were deep fried and served with a jalapeno jelly.

This dish was simple but it was good. The jalapeno jelly added a nice amount of heat to the balls.

She ordered the Turkey Avocado sandwich. The sandwich consisted of natural turkey breast, avocado, tomato, caramelized onions, organic greens & bacon aioli on toasted whole grain bread.

The sandwich was decent but one of the complaints we had was the bacon aioli was almost non-existent on the sandwich. But the waiter was kind enough to bring a little more for her sandwich.

I ordered the Citrus Glazed Salmon. This dish consisted of a pan seared citrus glazed salmon served with a citrus quinoa avocado relish.

This dish was amazing. I’ve never eaten quinoa but they did a great job with the quinoa being flavorful.

The Salmon was superb. The glaze was oh so good!

Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch at Dish Society. They are doing healthy right. The service was good. The food was served pipping hot. I definitely want to return again maybe at one of their other locations to try some of their other dishes. I love restaurants that have seasonal menus or menus that change.
