As summer is coming to an end, we are getting in as much fun as we can. We recently took the kids to Galveston for a few days. Galveston is a nice place to visit. The Galveston Seawell has some really good food places that are right across from the beach or near the beach.
Rainforest Cafe is one of them. Rainforest Cafe offers delicious food with a cool dining experience. We have been to quite a few Rainforest Cafe’s in different places.
Rainforest Cafe is a family-friendly restaurant, that makes the dining experience for kids and adults alike amazing! Offering a variety of menu options.
Our family has dined at this location before but this was before I was a blogger. We arrived at the Restaurant and there was a 30 minute wait. The kiddos were good with that, because they had their eyes on toy shopping.
We browsed the area with toys, souvenirs and coffee mugs, etc. They made their picks and we waited for our last name to be called.
It was our son’s first visit to a Rainforest Cafe and he was mesmerized. He loved the restaurant. The Rainforest-themed restaurant with sounds was so captivating for him.
Our seats were right by a fish tank. Oh my gosh, the perfect spot for this guy.
Our waiter arrived at our table very quickly and took our drink orders. My husband ordered the Strawberry Lemonade. I ordered a Mango Passion Fruit drink. They were served in a Souvenir glass. Refreshing.
The kiddos wanted the kid’s souvenir cups. My son wanted the Frog and baby girl ordered the parrot with lemonade. Super cute cups for the kiddos.
We decided on the Beef Lava Nachos. The Nachos consisted of peppers, onions, black beans, Monterey Jack and cheddar cheese, green onions, sour cream, pico de gallo, chipotle salsa.
A great shareable appetizer. The nachos were delicious. Served piping hot and presented nicely.
After devouring the Nachos, we decided on our choices for our entrees.
Baby girl ordered the Cheeseburgers with mashed potatoes and sliced oranges. I loved that the kid’s food were served on a sectional plate. The cheeseburgers were cooked perfectly and my daughter loved it. My only complaint would be that the presentation could have been better for the burgers. I know it’s a kid’s plate but just throwing the burgers together isn’t acceptable.
Z-man wanted the Cheese pizza with grapes and oranges. Cheesy goodness and double fruit was exactly what he likes. I love that there were several options to choose from on the kid’s menu.
I ordered the Bombay Seafood Stew. This dish came from Rainforest Cafe’s special Taste the Riches menu which is only available for a limited time. This dish consisted of Sautéed clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops and tilapia with a red curry coconut sauce served with white rice.
The dish was gorgeous. The presentation was spot on. I have to admit when I saw the photo on the menu of the dish, I didn’t think the dish would be close to same look, but I was wrong.
The dish was beautiful and packed with flavor and spicy with a creamy curry sauce. An indian inspired dish. Absolutely delicious.
My husband went with the Chicken Fried Chicken. The Chicken Fried Chicken was topped with country gravy and served with red skinned mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies.
The Chicken was fried golden brown with a crispy exterior and the chicken was moist. So good. A really good comfort food dish.
What more could we order to top off a wonderful dining experience? The SPARKLING VOLCANO, yes indeed. The Sparkling Volcano was everything. I love that the dessert is delivered to the table sparkling and the waiter or waitress is shouting Volcano! So fun.
This dessert was incredible. I am not a big chocolate eater, but this one was delicious. We shared it as a family. So good! A must try if you dine at Rainforest Cafe.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rainforest Cafe. The food was delicious! Our waiter was amazing! He served us with a smile and without error.
