It’s our weekly Wednesday Wisdom article. Today, I wanted to encourage the moms. Raising kids is a job within itself.
Being a mom is one of the things many women grow up desiring and wanting. For some becoming a mom came easily for some not so much.
Becoming a mom wasn’t easy for me. For my new followers, my husband and I went through a lot of fertility treatments and prayer and fasting to conceive our beautiful bundle of joy, our daughter Jaeda.
My mini me. She looks like her dad and acts like me from Fashion to dancing to music.
The second time we weren’t blessed through fertility meds and prayer, but prayer led us to Foster care.
After a few years we adopted our handsome son, Jayden Zach. Created in God’s image just for us. Our Dumas boy!
I also had the honor of helping my husband raise his now 21 year old daughter. I met her when she was 5 1/2 years old.
Being a mom and rearing children is filled with enjoyment, joy, fun, tough nights, tough seasons, frustration, sickness and so much more. Many parents find themselves overjoyed, excited, but the opposite of that coin exhausted, confused, discouraged and more.
The hard times are not always the fun times. At times you can feel alone, isolated, exhausted, sad, depressed and so many other emotions.
During these times remember that this too shall pass. It’s a season, it won’t always be a storm. It will pass so fast that you will miss those moments with your littles ones. But remember in those seasons, things will get better.
But though the enemy makes you feel alone, know that you are not alone. God is with you. He’s there in those tough times, holding your hands, drying your tears and bringing comfort. But you must open your heart and spirit to Him. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (I Peter 5:7 NIV).
Family is our first ministry. Many times as parents, you may not feel like you are getting through or making a difference but you are. The reward may not seem great but it is.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6 KJV).
Every doctor’s visit, soccer practice, dance recital, music lesson, gymnastic class, are all an investment into the lives of your children that is shaping them into the man and woman of God they will become.
Press on MOM, God sees you and He’s proud of you. Even though you may feel no one sees He does! Don’t let the devil trick you out of your happiness of being a mom. You will have tough days, dust yourself off and regroup for the next day.
Surround yourself with some moms who can pull you up after a tough day. We all have those days. But we must no let the devil isolate us into thinking that we are the only ones. Every mom deals with something with their kids. Let’s help one another!
Do me a favor, check on a mom in your life and let them know they are not alone! Let’s share MOM LOVE!
