Back to the doughnuts. My kiddos love doughnuts so they had Voodoo Doughnuts in view since our first day at Universal Studios. But we didn’t go right away.
We eventually stopped in mid-day. Even mid-day the doughnut shop was packed.
As you enter the doughnut shop you immediately see the spiral staircase which was the focal point of the shop. With a winding table of the doughnut options of the day. Over 50 options to chose from.
The doughnut shop was cool looking. A very cool vibe. Like no other doughnut shop I’ve ever been too. The doughnut combinations were so interesting.
We chose our doughnuts while waiting in line. Which made the ordering so smooth. I love that they had the winding table of doughnuts for viewing and that there is also a menu available.
The ordering process and boxing of the doughnuts were so quick and easy.
We ordered 5 donuts. I love the artsy details on these doughnuts, it was incredible.
The Universal Orangesicle. This orangesicle doughnut was visually stunning. The inspiration of this doughnut came from Florida being known for oranges and the sunshine while adding a Popsicle stick. Cute idea. Taste wise, I thought the doughnut was just OK.
Secret Life of Pets 2 inspired doughnut. This doughnut of Max was super cute. My son loved his doughnut. A well designed doughnut with the perfect appeal for any kid.
The Mango Tango was our favorite. This doughnut was a raised yeast shell filled with mango jelly and topped with vanilla frosting and Tangy.
Definitely tangy, but the flavors really popped. Absolutely delicious.
Triple Chocolate Penetration, a cake doughnut with real chocolate icing and cocoa puffs. This doughnut was finger licking good for my daughter.
The Key Lime Doughnut, a yeast shell filled with key lime Bavarian. Then topped with vanilla icing and graham cracker crumbs. Visually the doughnut was simple but had a great flavor profile.
Vegan but love donuts? Don’t worry Voodoo Doughnuts has you covered! A few different vegan options to choose from.
Overall, we loved Voodoo Doughnuts. From the visual appealing doughnuts, the flavorful options to choose from, Voodoo Doughnuts definitely lived up to the hype.
The doughnut chair on the outside was super adorable and a great spot for an Instagram photo.
If you are at Universal Studios, be sure to stop by and try a doughnut or two. Great things come in those pink boxes.
In addition, when I returned back to Houston, I found out that we have a new location of Voodoo Doughnuts coming soon. How exciting! Can’t wait to see what creations they bring to Houston!
