I’m continuing our journey while in Galveston next up, Moody Gardens Hotel. Moody Gardens Hotel is a Hotel/Resort that is located in Galveston Texas.
Moody Gardens is nestled along the Galveston Coast.
A gulf paradise that makes you feel like you have been whisked away to an island.
The hotel offers beautiful botanical settings, palm trees and turquoise pools.
The rooms offer a very tropical themed décor.
The view from the room was nice!
The hotel is surrounded by 42 acres of scenery and attractions to explore from Moody Gardens Rainforest, Aquarium Pyramids, Schlitterbahn Waterpark and so much more!
After we returned from dinner at Fish Tales, we explored the hotel. One of the things that I immediately noticed is that the hotel was kid friendly. A place that both the kids and adults could have a blast! The kids were both given a bag filled with toys and goodies.
We headed to the Kid’s Crew Pad. The kid’s crew pad was serving S’mores.
As we approached the area, the young workers greeted us and proceeded to tell us about the different types of chocolate to use to make our S’mores.
The ingredients and tools necessary were available to get started. We grabbed our marshmallows and the roasting sticks.
Baby girl, the hubby and myself headed to the area to roast the marshmallows.
We returned back to table and assembled our S’mores. Very good snack and treat for everyone. This was Z-man’s first time trying S’mores and he loved it!
I prepared a Reese’s peanut butter S’more so good!
After finishing their treats the kids wanted to go in the fun jump. We allowed them to play awhile, while the hubby and I sat and talked. The kids were done jumping and ready to explore more.
As we were leaving there were more parents and kids arriving.
The hotel also has a big area where you can play life size checkers, chess and a few other games. Really cool idea and a good way to entertain the kiddos.
The space is wide open and it also was used for Movies nightly. A different movie is shown each night.
We continued on our journey around the hotel and noticed it was beautifully landscaped with flowers throughout the walkway.
I am a lover of flowers, trees and beautiful landscaped properties. Absolutely stunning.
The park area was a nice feature. A large area and perfect area for the kids to go and play.
As we were walking to our next destination, we saw these adorable bunnies just wandering around on the property. The kids were stoked when they saw the bunnies. So cute.
Moody Gardens also has a Ropes Course and Zip Line. Are you one who loves to challenge your agility, balance and strength? This is perfect for you! Encounter the 5-tier Sky Trail Ropes Course., the tallest Steel Ropes Course on the Full Course.
Want more? Take a round trip on the Zip Line.
One of the cool things we saw is that in the Summer Moody Gardens host something called the Bands on the Sand. On Fridays & Saturdays June – August, we were a few days too early.
Don’t want to fight the crowds at the big beach? Be sure to visit Palm Beach at the Moody Gardens Hotel. A beautiful area with white sand, a lazy river and an 18 foot tower slides and wave pool. I want to go back right now just thinking about this.
We didn’t get to enjoy this area but we did pass by and get a glimpse of this area.
As the evening continued we headed back to the hotel. There was more in the hotel that we wanted to explore.
Moody Gardens also has a gift shop. Smart idea! Gather all your souvenirs right there in the hotel.
We ran across the Moody Brews coffee shop that serves Starbucks on our way to the elevator. A big plus for me! I love Starbucks!
The hotel had so much more to explore, I took this really cool shot of the pool on one of the upper levels. Pictured above
Honestly as we explored the hotel and glanced out the windows, the Hotel didn’t have one bad view. Breath Taking views.
Moody Gardens also has an Elegant/Fine dining restaurant. The restaurant is called Shearn’s Seafood and Prime Steak. The restaurant has a view of the majestic Moody Gardens Pyramids and Galveston Bay. The Shearn’s Lounge is the perfect Galveston bar in which to enjoy evening drinks, hors d’oeuvres and snacks. The area leading up to Shearn’s Seafood and Prime Steak was stunning and very elegantly designed. Really nice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay! The hotel exceeded our expectations on all levels.
The kiddos didn’t want to leave. We plan to return during the Festival of Lights later in the year!
I will talk a little more about the other restaurant options in the hotel in another blog.
