Yesterday, my crew and I tried Floyd’s Cajun Seafood. We decided to get our crawfish fix before the mad rush today for Good Friday!
Floyd’s is a restaurant that offers Cajun inspired dishes and seafood dishes. With a relaxed atmosphere that also has a raw oyster bar and full drink bar.
The first thing we noticed as we approached is their Patio. A partial covered patio with tables, TV’s as well as tables with umbrellas. Very nice spot and perfect for yesterday, because the weather was perfect.
We grabbed a table outside and our waitress arrived immediately. She took our drink orders and we began looking over the menu. We knew we wanted Crawfish but we ordered a few appetizers.
The kiddos wanted to try the Boudin. The boudin was superb. Well seasoned and nicely prepared. It was served with a sauce of some sort. The sauce didn’t pair well with the boudin, a remoulade sauce or cajun dipping sauce would have been better.
But the boudin itself was really good.
My husband and I tried the Grilled Oysters Lafayette. The oysters were topped with crab meat, shrimp & cheese on the half shell. This combination sounded good. Flavor wise the oysters tasted delicious. I wish that the Grilled Oysters would have arrived at the table pipping hot but the oysters weren’t hot.
The oyster flavor profile was good. Just wished they were pipping hot.
Finally, it was time for what we came for, CRAWFISH! We ordered 10 lbs of Crawfish with corn and potatoes and a link of sausage.
The Crawfish didn’t come with sauce. So I made my own sauce. They did offer us melted butter.
The crawfish was boiled nicely. Easy to peel. I wish they were a little more spicy. But I noticed that the more you ate the spicer the crawfish got. Which was good.
Louisiana has a different way of boiling crawfish. But I think that Floyd’s did a good job with their Crawfish.
Overall, we enjoyed our time at Floyd’s. Floyd’s has a family friendly atmosphere. Though there was no kids menu which was a bit surprising. The service was good. Our waitress was super nice. The food for the most part was really good.
Floyd’s has a variety menu offering many different options to choose from. The Patio is really cool and a comfortable spot to sit on gorgeous day.
