My mom, grandma and I had the opportunity to be hosted at Off the Hook Houston. Off the Hook is a fast casual restaurant serving up some delicious Cajun food.
The motto of Off the Hook is to share Cajun food and culture in a timely manner. Food with bold and authentic flavors that are from family recipes.
We placed our orders and waited for the food to arrive.
One of the first dishes to arrive was the Grilled Shrimp & Catfish Basket with fries and hush puppies.
The platter was delicious. The seafood was seasoned and grilled perfectly. Served with seasoned fries and 3 fried hush puppies. A really good platter. A great option instead of the fried seafood platter.
Being from Louisiana myself, I’ve had my share of Cajun food. I must say they know what they are doing in that kitchen.
The next dish that arrived was the Fried Chicken with red beans and rice. The chicken was fried perfectly. Seasoned and fried a golden brown. Really good fried chicken. The red beans and rice was a great choice.
My grandma loved this dish.
We also tried the Hook Salad with Buffalo Ranch. The salad included lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, purple onions, grilled shrimp and cheese. The Buffalo Ranch dressing was perfect with this salad.
We also had a cup of the chicken and sausage gumbo which was well seasoned with rice. Good stuff!!
The salad and gumbo is a light option for those who don’t want the fried food.
To finish our delicious lunch we tried the Fried Bread Pudding dessert. Oh so good! A must try before leaving Off the Hook. Delicious.
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch at Off the Hook Houston. Our food was made to order, well seasoned and the service was perfect. The staff was accommodating.
This fast casual restaurant is a good spot to enjoy a quick lunch that doesn’t compromise flavor. The menu has a good variety of items to chose from as well.
