New Cajun Seafood recently opened in the Lafayette, LA area. A few Fridays ago, we had some errands to run. After we were done, the kiddos were hungry, so we decided to stop at New Cajun Seafood.
As we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest lady. She was both friendly and funny.
We began looking over the menu and quickly noticed that the menu was quite extensive, but offered many favorites that we enjoy.
Z-man was ready to eat right when we walked in, so we ordered fries for the kiddos. The fries were just OK. But they were good enough to hold the little guy until his noodles were ready.
Baby girl ordered the Chicken Stir-Fry Spaghetti Noodle. The portions are available in a small or large. The small is pretty big. The noodles are cooked with onions and celery. Seasoned noodles with tasty chicken. Really good. The kids loved the noodles.
The hubby ordered the Large Seafood and Shrimp Platter. The platter included 2 pieces of fried fish and 8 pieces of shrimp. Served with tartar sauce, roll, salad, and fried rice. The platter was seasoned and fried perfectly. Very good. The hubby really enjoyed his platter.
I ordered the Grilled Fish plate. The plate included 2 grilled pieces of fish with fried rice. The fish was grilled to perfection. Moist not dry, with the delicious seasoned fried rice. Served with lettuce, tomatoes and a roll. So good.
We ordered a Shrimp salad for my mom who was coming to watch the kiddos later that evening for us to attend an event. The grilled shrimp salad was beautiful. The shrimp was seasoned, grilled and topped on a bed lettuce, tomatoes and eggs and your choice of dressing. She loved the salad. Seasoned well. Croutons would have been nice on the salad.
In addition to the items we ordered, the menu had offerings which included Chicken Tenders, Chicken Wings, Cajun Foods like Red Beans, Fried Gizzard, Po-boys, Sandwiches. Combos like Cheeseburgers, Fish or Pork Chop Sandwiches both served with a small order of fries and a drink.
Also appetizers including Cajun fried rice, okra, cheese sticks and egg rolls.
As you can see the menu was massive, but there was something for everyone.
Overall we really enjoyed the food from New Cajun Seafood. Nice environment, friendly service, great location and delicious food.
Call ahead orders are welcome.

Great food, I eat there often and if you like fried chicken gizzard but don’t get them alot because they are tough and hard to eat ,NOT HERE, I don’t know what they do to them but 9 out of 10 times you can bite them in half and the breading does not even fall off …I strongly recommend anything from there, always well seasoned and always very friendly people and family who owns Owsley and runs this business. All of their children work there as well and to me that says alot when you have your family involved in your business giving it that Cajun down home welcome atmosphere we here are accustomed to, even though these folks are in fact of Asian decent they definitely have been raised right and are doing the same with their own children. Congrats on a great place I will be back again and again, in I’m on the way now!!!!
