I am continuing my journey through the Baton Rouge area. I woke up after a lovely night sleep at the Watermark in search of another Coffee shop. A fellow Food Influencer from the area mentioned to me about Strands Cafe.

Strands is a cozy, family-owned cafe & bakery serving espressos, coffees, speciality drinks, pastries, chocolates and light lunches.

“The Strands Motto, God, Family, Worldwide Community! Ecclesiastese 4:12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken”. I love it!

As I walked up to the building, the bright blue brick wall immediately caught my eye. The blue brick added a nice flare to the building.  A vibrant, colorful and welcoming building.

I entered the boutique style coffee shop and was greeted by a few of the family members. The music was playing softly in the background. The song playing was one of my favorites, a very popular Christian artist by the name of Kari Jobe. This made me smile.

The case of homemade chocolates caught my eyes. The chocolates are made with the best ingredients and no preservatives.

I purchased a few chocolates to go for the hubby & kiddos.  The Strawberry filled chocolate is made with Ponchatoula strawberries and milk chocolate. They loved the chocolates.

Strands offers a variety of coffee options, Including Strands Creations on their menu. I ordered a Toffee Latte.  The Toffee Latte was smooth, tasty and light. The perfect latte, no sugar needed. Really good.

In addition to breakfast, Strands also serves lunch. Salads and sandwich options with a side option of sweet potato chips, soup du jour or side salad.

My only regret would be that I didn’t get to try the Galette des Rois, French style King Cake.

The atmosphere at Strands was welcoming.  Many people came in and out at Strands while I was there. The feeling was like family, many of the customers were regulars that the owners knew by name. This was nice to see.

Overall Strands is on my favorite coffee shop list.  The atmosphere, the food, the service was impeccable. The fact that it was family owned was a big plus. You know that they are devoted to their business and they really care about the quality of the items that they are selling.  A very calm and welcoming environment.
