District Donuts has become a favorite of my husband and I. We first tried District Donuts in New Orleans. It was love at first sight. I am a lover of donuts and all things sweet.
The donuts became my favorite thing to enjoy at District Donuts. The restaurant offers different donut options. I love that the donut menu is not the same every single day.
But more than just donuts, District Donuts offers Sandwiches, Sliders, Coffee, Croquenuts, Waffle Fries and a few salad options.
District Donuts opened a location in Baton Rouge recently. My husband and I have been wanting to try the new spot for a while, but our schedule wouldn’t allow it. We were heading to Baton Rouge for an event so we decided to carve out some time to stop at District Donuts.
We arrived at the new location around lunch time. The Towne Center is a great area and a perfect spot for District Donuts Baton Rouge. The first thing we noticed was the nice patio area for dining outdoors.
The look of the inside was similar to a few of the other locations. The wood accents, the wide opened space to see your food being prepared and cool product displays.
We placed our order and found a place to sit outside because our party was pretty large. The day was perfect for dining on the patio.
My husband ordered the cookie dough donut. Chocolate glaze donut filled with vanilla pastry cream, topped with cookie dough and chocolate chips. Oh my word!!
This donut was superb! Chocolate goodness. I am not even a big chocolate eater and this one was amazing.
I ordered the Lemon Icebox Donut. A lemon glaze donut with condensed milk pastry cream, brown sugar butter cream, key lime topping and graham cracker crumble. I was stuffed, so I decided to take mine to go.
I loved the flavor profile of this donut. A sweet and tangy donut that was perfect with a large glass of milk. Superb! My mouth is watering just thinking of that donut again.
We ordered sliders for the kiddos.
Baby girl ordered the Pork Belly slider. Pork Belly with pickled onion, micro radish sprouts, roasted garlic anise creole mustard. A simple but great choice for baby girl.
The little guy wanted a cheeseburger, so he had the cheeseburger slider. The slider consisted of a Creekstone farm patty, cheese, b & b pickles and slider sauce. So good.
District Donuts also serves sandwiches, my hubby had the Double Cheeseburger. The double cheeseburger consisted of double patties, double cheese, b & b pickles and slider sauce.
The burger was visually stunning. Absolutely delicious! The buns that the cheeseburger was served on was buttery and toasty. So good.
I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich. OH MY WORD! This Chicken Sandwich was the best I’ve had in a long time.
Crispy fried chicken with buttermilk garlic slaw, candied jalapeños and spicy pimento cheese. The flavors were incredible. The chicken was fried perfectly. This was our first time having this sandwich, but it won’t be our last. Superb!
In addition we ordered Cheesy waffle fries to share as a family. The waffle fries are topped with housemade cheese sauce and candied peppers. Amazingly delicious. A favorite of ours from District Donuts. We order this every single time! Superb.
Overall, we were incredibly satisfied with our dining experience at District Baton Rouge. The new location in Baton Rouge didn’t disappoint at all. The food was served pipping hot and in a very timely manner.
We are already looking forward to our next opportunity to go back and enjoy donuts and coffee.
