Lasagna is a favorite dish in our house. We didn’t feel like cooking so we decided to find a spot that serves Lasagna. I remembered seeing one of the bloggers post a picture of Lasagna in the Houston area. The Lasagna looked amazing.
The restaurant was the Lasagna House III. The Lasagna House is a restaurant that serves Authentic Italian Food with recipes that have been in the family for years.
We headed there for an early dinner.
As we entered the Lasagna House, the restaurant had the feel of an Italian Cafe. We were seated immediately.
Our waiter arrived to take our drink order. We ordered our drinks and began to peruse to the menu.
After our drinks arrived, the waiter arrived with some garlic bread. The garlic bread was very good but poorly presented.
For our appetizer, we ordered the Calamari Fritti. The dish included Calamari that was hand-breaded and deep fried. Served with our zesty tomato sauce and also a remoulade style sauce. Superb.
The calamari was fried to perfection a golden brown and crispy. Paired nicely with the zesty tomato sauce. Superb.
We decided on our entrees, the little man ordered the Alfredo Sauce. Baby boy loved his pasta.
Baby girl wanted Lasagna, so she ordered Lasagna. The Lasagna was a disappointment. The presentation was poor. The dish lacked seasoning and didn’t include much cheese either.
Most Lasagna dishes are topped with cheese, but this one wasn’t. The dish was nothing like the Lasagna dish the blogger posted. Which for my daughter was a big disappointment.
My husband also ordered the same thing and he was highly upset by the presentation and taste of the dish.
I ordered the Shrimp Scampi for my entree. The Shrimp Scampi was sautéed with shrimp tossed with tomatoes, artichoke hearts, scallions and angel hair pasta in a white wine garlic butter sauce.
The dish was good. Again a little seasoning would have gone a long way. I will say that the ingredients were a good choice and worked well together.
Each pasta dish included a side salad.
Lasagna House III also serves desserts. I ordered a cheesecake to go. The cheesecake was topped with blueberries, whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Pretty good dessert.
Overall our experience at Lasagna house was just ok. Some of the highs of our dining experience was that the waiter was amazing! He served us well, he was attentive and knowledgeable.
The food was lacking in many ways. Here are a few dishes that I did like, the Calamari was the best dish of the night. This dish was flawless. My second favorite was the Shrimp Scampi with a little seasoning it would have been perfect.
