Friday was Valentine’s Day and my husband and I have a tradition where we go out to eat Crawfish every year for Valentine’s Day while the kids are in school.

In the past two years, we’ve had the chance to try new places every year. Back in Louisiana there weren’t as many options to choose from for Crawfish.

This year our Crawfish spot was Crawfish & Beignets. I have been following Crawfish & Beignets on Instagram for a while now and their pictures are always mouthwatering.

We arrived about 11:40 at the restaurant but realized that the restaurant didn’t open until noon. So FYI they open at noon. Me and a bunch of others were waiting for the restaurant to open.

Having a crowd prior to opening is a good sign.

Finally it was time, we walked in and the waitress told us to sit wherever we wanted. We were seated and began exploring the menu.

We knew we wanted Crawfish but we decided to try a few other options as well.

First up was the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. The gumbo was huge. Enough for me and my husband to share. The gumbo was flavorful.  I love that the portion size was enough to share.

Only downside is the gumbo had way too much bell peppers in it. I am a Louisiana girl and we use bell peppers too but it was way too much. The chicken was shredded and almost non-existent.

My husband loved the Edamame. There are two options, Sea Salt or Cajun. He tried the Cajun Edamame. The Cajun Edamame was garlicky with spices. A nice twist to Edamame but needed a little salt.

We also tried the Jumbo Shrimp Stir-Fry. This dish was delicious. Jumbo shrimp with a crunchy exterior, sautéed with jalapeno peppers, onions and green onions.

A cool presentation, served in a silver metal pot. Really good.

Now what we really came for the Crawfish. We ordered 3lbs of Crawfish with the Krajun Season. The Krajun was a Garlic Butter with cajun spices. Really good.

The waitress was kind enough to bring me everything I need to whip up a small batch of my Crawfish Dip. Yay!

But I have to be honest, the Crawfish was so good, I didn’t even need the dip. Well seasoned and all. We ordered the mild, but I think we could have handled medium. Really good.

My only complaint was that the Crawfish were a little on the small side.  They also serve potatoes, corn and sausage but these are all additional.

Since it was Valentine’s Day, they were giving every table a free order of Beignets. Who doesn’t love Beignets?

I was a little skeptical about trying the Beignets because we haven’t found a place yet in Houston that has good Beignets. All the ones we’ve tried were not good. But man that streak ended on Friday!

Crawfish and Beignets nailed the Beignets. Served pipping hot with the right amount of powdered sugar on top. Fried Perfectly. Served with Sweetened condensed cream. Superb!

Overall, Crawfish and Beignets is a great spot to grab some delicious Seafood. Everything was served pipping hot. The vibe of the restaurant is cool, laid back, come and stay awhile kind of feel.

The service was incredible. Simply flawless service. My only complaint about the service was that all the food arrived to the table at the same time. The appetizers as well. We ordered the appetizers first and they came out with the crawfish and shrimp.

We like to space our food out so we can enjoy everything hot. I would recommend getting the orders in immediately so that doesn’t happen.

Other than that, the ladies were awesome. The owner visited the table and thanked us for coming.

The food was delicious. They have a great menu that has something for everyone. I love that there is also a kid menu if we ever want to go back with our kiddos.

My husband and I really enjoyed our lunch. Thanks Crawfish & Beignets.
