We decided to try something a little different, Country Pork ribs wrapped in bacon and dipped in BBQ sauce.

Cool off with some delicious frozen custard. My crew and I stopped in yesterday at Ritter’s Frozen Custard.
Ritter’s serves frozen custard, Italian ice, shaved ice, sundaes, smoothies and snacks.
A great spot to take the family for a little treat to cool off. There are covered tables and benches on the property to enjoy your treats. They also have a drive thru to grab and go.
What we tried:
•Strawberry delight
•Mud Sundae
•Strawberry Shortcake (hugggee)
•Tiger blood Shaved ice

The treats were delicious. Large portion sizes as well. The service was just ok.

If you’ve been following me any length of time you know that I’m a Louisiana girl at heart who lives in Texas. We love checking out restaurants here in Texas with Louisiana roots.
Tad’s Louisiana cooking is a Cajun and Creole restaurant.

We heard about this spot via a recommendation from someone my husband knows. We decided to check it out.

Tad’s has lots of Louisiana classics like Fried Seafood, Gumbo, Étouffée, Boiled Seafood and much more. They also serve breakfast/brunch on the weekends!

I heard that they are headed to Youngsville, Louisiana which is where we lived before moving to Texas. My Louisiana people be sure to go show them some love!

What we ate:
•Beignet Fries
•Bang Bang Shrimp
•Boiled Crawfish
•Club Sandwich
•Fried Catfish topped with crawfish étouffée with dirty rice.
•Kid’s fried shrimp

The food was pretty good. The vibe of the restaurant was like Louisiana. The service was just ok.
We love that Tad’s had indoor and outdoor seating. As well as lots of TV’s. A great place to watch sporting events!

My crew and I finally had a chance to stop in to check out 85 c. 85 c is bakery and cafe.
We had just finished eating lunch and 85 c was right next door to the spot we were dining at. The hubby and I wanted dessert so we decided to check it out.
From cakes to pastry to coffee.

We took our pastries to go. I ordered the Strawberry shortcake
Cookies and cream mousse cup

They had some good looking pastries. The desserts we had were just ok. Which was kind of disappointing because I’ve been wanting to try 85 c out.

Our kids weren’t impressed with the options. We have one with a nut allergy. She loves cookies but all of the cookies had nuts.

A few Sundays ago, I was craving Sushi. We stopped in at a spot called Kura Revolving Sushi Bar.
Our family loves to stop in the Katy area for lunch after church.
Kura is serving a variety of sushi 🍣 and Japanese dishes that passes by diners on a revolving conveyer belt and some can be ordered right from the kiosk at the table.

It was a really cool experience that we loved.

Now was it the best sushi we have ever had? No but it was more about the experience and Kura had some really good dishes.

Here are our top picks:

I loved the umami oil seared beef sushi. So good!

The shrimp tempura udon noodle bowl was delicious.

It’s wellness Wednesday and I’m here to share

It’s wellness Wednesday and I’m here to share a healthy snack alternative. Most kids love Sour Patch candy. I decided to try Sour Patch Grapes which is supposed to be similar to Sour Patch candy but healthier. I tested on my kids to see.

This healthy alternative included 4 simple ingredients:
* Jello packs ( I used watermelon, lime and lemon) either sugar free or regular. I loved it both ways. The watermelon was my favorite and it tasted the most like sour patch kids.
* Lime juice
* Green Grapes

Pro-Tip freeze it for a few hours before eating. I didn’t, but I loved it right after it was done. The coating will stay better if you freeze it. @jello

Our teenager thought it was ok, but The watermelon caught her off guard. This one taste the most like sour patch candy. She didn’t like the lemon or lime at all. But she doesn’t like grapes so there’s that 🤣🤣. Our little man loved it. His favorite was the watermelon and the lime.

I’m back with more unseen footage from our Nashville trip. This is one I’m so excited to share, the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM).
“NMAAM is the only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the many music genres created, influenced, and inspired by African Americans. The museum’s expertly-curated collections share the story of the American soundtrack by integrating history and interactive technology to bring the musical heroes of the past into the present”.
Both of our kids love music! We really enjoyed this place as a family. Telling our kids stories about some of the music from the past that we grew up listening to. So so cool. The displays were amazing! If you are in the Nashville area or visiting, I highly recommend that you check this place out.
