Last Week my husband, daughter and I were out running errands and hanging out. It was my husband’s last official day off before heading back to work downtown full time. It’s been nice having him home with us. But we are excited for life to get back to normal.
Anywho, back to the reason that you are here, my newest Restaurant Review. Today’s Restaurant Review is on a restaurant called The Catch.
The Catch is a fast casual restaurant that serves fresh seafood with a coastal atmosphere. The restaurant had the feel of beach side restaurant. It made me wish I was on the beach relaxing. But it also reminded me of Louisiana, with the cajun and zydeco music playing.
We approached the counter and began perusing the digital menu on our phones. The menu had a variety of seafood options from oysters to shrimp to fish, tacos, po-boys, salads and boiled seafood. Our orders were placed and we found a seat outside.
It was a nice day so it was perfect to dine outside. The patio had umbrellas for shade as well.
Our appetizer arrived at the table first. Being from Louisiana we love Boudin Balls. The boudin balls were seasoned and fried perfectly. Love the remoulade sauce that it was served with. Really good.
Our daughter ordered the Shrimp basket with Fried Jumbo Shrimp and french fries. The shrimp was fried and seasoned well. She loved this basket.
My husband ordered the Captain’s Combo. This combo included Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp, Boudin balls, hush puppies, boiled potatoes and corn as a side item, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce and sliced lemons.
Everything in this combo was on point. They fried each item well. The corn and potatoes in his order were bland. Just ok, maybe needed some of the boiled seafood seasoning on top.
But the main items in the combo were delicious.
I ordered the Fried Fish Basket. This basket included fried fish, fried okra and hush puppies. Served with lemon and tartar sauce.
I love fried fish. The fish was fried nicely. My hush puppies were a little dry. The okra was crispy and perfect. I really enjoyed it. My plate was delicious. A large portion size as well.
We also tried the Beignets. Now let me just say, good beignets have been hard to find since we moved here. But I gotta say, they do it right at The Catch. The beignets were fried and powdered to perfection. My only regret is that we only ordered 3. They were delicious.
Overall our dining experience was good at The Catch. The food was really good. Customer service was not that great, it could have been better. The menu had something for everyone. We would definitely try another location of the Catch. It would be a go to if we had one close to us.
The Catch we visited was located in the Willowbrook area, 7608 – B FM 1960 West, Houston, TX 77070. The hours of operation are Monday – Thursday 10:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., Friday – Saturday 10:30 a.m. 10:30 p.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
