My family and I are officially back from our vacation in Cancun, MX. It was such a fun, relaxing vacation with gorgeous views. I will share more on here later.
We ate some delicious food while in Mexico. One of the best dishes was the Shrimp Cocktail. I loved how the restaurant switched it up.
Shrimp Cocktail is a dish I love eating at home on the back patio. It’s the perfect Spring/Summer dish. I made my own version a few weeks ago. It’s so easy and only requires a few ingredients.
I do mine a little differently. Shrimp Cocktail is usually a cold dish. I like my shrimp cocktail warm.
Below is my version.
Shrimp Cocktail
Ingredients:
- Slap Ya Mama Cajun Crawfish Seasoning (desired amount, I like mine spicy)
- Old Bay Seasoning (1-2 tbsp)
- Baby Dill herbs (garnish)
- Lemon (1/2 of the lemon Juiced)
- Tabasco (3 – 5 dashes)
- Cocktail Sauce (desired amount)
- Cooked Shrimp (peeled, tail-0n, deveined)
- Fancy glass (shop here )
Directions:
- Add water boiling in a middle size pot.
- Add in the crawfish boil seasoning.
- Add in the old bay seasoning.
- Once the water is boiling, pour in the shrimp.
- Turn off the fire.
- Allow the pre-cooked shrimp to sit in the water for 5 minutes.
- While waiting, pour in the cocktail sauce in a fancy margarita glass.
- Add in the hot sauce.
- Add in the juice of the lemon. Stir.
- Drain the shrimp.
- Place the shrimp around the rim of the glass.
- Garnish with fresh dill herbs.
- Enjoy.
This is the perfect dish to enjoy on the back patio, poolside or just as a nice dish. Pair with your favorite refreshing drink. I love a good non-alcoholic wine or olipop or non-alcoholic spritzer.
