In this blog, I am continuing my journey to find the best Crawfish spots. This past Thursday, I decided to do something different. I decided to pick up Crawfish from a few places that have a Drive Thru.
We set up a table with Crawfish Decorations from Party City at home. Let me just say, Party City has super cute Crawfish Decor. Adorable.
My three Crawfish Drive Thru places were The Crawfish Spot, Tall Tails Crawfish and Getcha Sum-A-Dat Crawfish & More.
The Crawfish Spot offers boiled Crawfish & Shrimp. Available for Dine in and Drive Thru. They are located at 1899 W Pinhook Rd, Lafayette, Louisiana. The Hours of Operation are Monday – Thursday 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday – Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Crawfish was easy to peel. I ordered the crawfish mild, but it was too bland. The crawfish lacked seasoning. If you go please request spicy. The side items weren’t seasoned well either. The smoked sausage was good.
The crawfish were a nice size. The smoked sausage wasn’t bad. The dip was pretty garlicky, maybe a little too heavy on the garlic.
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed that the crawfish wasn’t seasoned better.
Our next stop was Tall Tails Crawfish. As we arrived to pick up the Crawfish, the Look of the building was very vibrant. Bright yellow and red building with outdoor seating and a drive thru.
Tall Tails Crawfish is located at 926 1/2 Kaliste Saloom Rd. Lafayette, Louisiana 70508. The Hours of Operation are Tuesday – Thursday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday – Saturday 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
After the I ordered my Crawfish and received my order, the lady who waited on me told me that what I ordered would not be enough. She said it will be so good you will want to drive back and get more. I just laughed politely. But I must admit she was so right! Oh my word.
I ordered the mild and the seasoning was on point. Well seasoned, nice sized crawfish. The dipping sauce was superb. The sides, the corn and potatoes were seasoned and boiled tender. Absolutely delicious.
Our final stop was Getcha Sum-A-Dat Crawfish & More. Getcha Sum-A-Dat just the name caught my attention. A family owned Boil house serving boiled crawfish, Dungeness crabs, boiled shrimp and snowballs.
Getcha Sum-A-Dat Crawfish is located at 2030 Bonin Rd,Youngsville, Louisiana. The Hours of Operation are Tuesday – Saturday 2:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
The Crawfish at Getcha was some of the best we have eaten this season so far. The seasoning was crazy good. Spicy and well boiled. The crawfish was easy to peel. The dipping sauce was thicker than I like my sauce, but it was delicious. Spicy and well balance of flavors in the dip. Superb!
My only complaint was that the sides, potatoes and corn lacked seasoning. I would have liked a little more spice. The sausage was by far my favorite of the night. Pork and Beef sausage mixed. The dip was a little on the thick side but it was money. So good. This place didn’t disappoint. I will definitely go back again for Crawfish.
After enjoying our delicious Crawfish, we had dessert too. Poupart’s is one of my favorite places to order cute, creative treats. I sent them a photo of some Crawfish Cookies and they came through!
The crawfish cookies were absolutely adorable. Too cute to eat indeed. Sugar cookies in the shape of a crawfish. The cookies looked just like a Crawfish. So cute and very tasty.
Poupart’s Bakery is a French Bakery that has been a local favorite for years and years. Serving up French Pastries, French breads, sweets and savory soups and sandwiches.
They are located at 1902 West Pinhook Road, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508.
