If you have been following me any length of time then you know that Sundays are our family dine out day. My family and I love going out to eat after church on Sundays. A few Sundays ago we stopped in at the Taco Stand.
The Taco Stand serves authentic Tacos, Bowls, Quesadilla and much more. Each dish is made with high quality, fresh ingredients. The flour and corn tortillas are made in house.
As we approached the Taco Stand. It’s just that a stand that serves Tacos. But it’s a really cute spot. A Patio that is connected to a walk-up ordering window. The patio has shaded areas with TV’s connected. This was perfect because my husband loves Football.
There was also a closed in area for really cold days and rainy days. The patio area also has heaters and is covered as well.
We approached the walk-up ordering window. The menu was overhead and visible. Perfect to see from anywhere on the patio. We perused the menu while the people ahead of us ordered.
I placed the orders for the family and waited for our name to be called.
Our son ordered the kid’s Steak & Cheese Quesadilla. This was a delicious quesadilla. Served with rice and beans. A hearty portion of food on this kid’s plate. He loved this cheesy, delicious steak quesadilla.
Our daughter ordered the Pollo (Chicken) and Carne Asada (Beef) Quesadilla. The tortilla was filled with a hefty portion of Pollo and Carne Asada and cheese. Grilled perfectly. The quesadilla was ooey gooey. So good.
She washed it down with a delicious Mandarian Jarrito. So good. We love these drinks.
My husband ordered the Meat Bowl with Barbacoa and Pollo (Chicken) with rice and beans, fresh cilantro, diced white onions, guacamole and lettuce. My hubby loved this bowl. He said it was one of the best bowls he’s had here in Texas. The meat and flavors of each component worked well together.
The Main reason we went to the Taco Stand was for one of their Limited time only dishes, Pozole. I have been on the hunt for Pozole in Texas. I stumbled on their post on Instagram and I was so excited to try it.
I started with the Pozole. Pozole is a Mexican soup that is a rich and brothy soup. This soup is packed with flavor. This soup includes Pork, Red Chiles and Hominy. Hominy is whole kernels of dry Field corn (maize).
The soup was topped with fresh cilantro, diced white onions and radishes. OH my! This soup didn’t disappoint at all. It was flavorful and hearty. Similar but not exactly like a Tortilla soup. SO good.
I also tried the Barbacoa Flour Taco. Barbacoa is a beef cheek that is cooked down. Packed with incredible flavor. Topped with cilantro and onions. The ingredients were so fresh. This taco was amazing.
The Taco Stand has a condiments station that has different salsa, pickled vegetables, lime and more. Adds great flavor to the tacos.
In addition, I tried the Tongue Flour Taco. The Taco is made with Tongue was super tender and flavorful. Served on a flour tortilla. Topped with fresh cilantro and onions. I added pickled purple onions and carrots. Wow. This Taco may not be for everybody, but man it was incredible.
Overall we loved The Taco Stand. We would definitely go back again. The food was incredible. Everything was made to order. Each dish was made with the freshest ingredients. It was evident in the dishes.
The dishes were presented nicely. We were blown away by the authentic Mexican food.
It was a cool day and we sat on the patio area. The outdoor heaters were great to keep us warm. I love that the patio tables had TV’s attached which was perfect, because my husband loves football.
The service was on point. Everyone was kind and friendly to me and my family. We really enjoyed it.
