Pizza Village has been around for several years on the Northside of town. The doors on the Northside opened in 1971 and has been going strong. Their goal has been to remain consistent and to offer superb customer service.
Pizza Village was welcomed with open arms on the Southside of town opening their second location on May 8, 2012. We didn’t go the first few days, because we knew that the restaurant would be jammed packed.
I dined at the Northside Pizza Village several years ago, but I don’t remember much about the place at all not to mention the food. Many of my friends love Pizza Village and have eaten there for years. We were excited about trying the pizza and seeing what other menu items they were offering.
The Hubby, lil mama & I needed to take care of some business on the Southside one Saturday and we decided to have lunch at Pizza Village. Lil mama loves pizza so we knew she wouldn’t have any complaints. Upon arrival we noticed that there were people waiting outside. Our wait was only about 15 minutes, but while waiting we enjoyed the fresh air because this particular day the weather was perfect.
Once we entered the restaurant we were very impressed with the decor and the set up of the restaurant. The restaurant is very roomy but yet warm and inviting.
We ordered the Crawfish Bisque Dip & Chips Appetizer (Pictured above). Delicious. This appetizer was very good! The dip was creamy, very cheesy and pipping hot! A must try, the flavors were superb. The chips were homemade. Nice and crunchy, the right amount of salt. We really enjoyed it.
As you can see, we loved the dish. We nearly cleaned the dish. Kmsl..The chips were crispy and crunchy, perfectly fried. Good stuff..
Our waiter delivered top notch service. He was one of the best waiters who has ever waited on us. I will say that if awesome service is what Pizza Village strives for, he did an amazing job!
Each of us have our own preference with pizza so we decided to order our own pizza. I ordered the Landry Special which consisted of a pizza topped with shrimp, pepperoni, hamburger, onion and jalapeno (pictured below). The pizza was very good. One thing I loved about the pizza is that the pizza was lightly sauced, which for me is great, because I have acid reflux. As far as the flavors, the toppings were delicious. Really reminded me of the pizza I order from Deano’s with the exception of the Parmesan sauce.
Lil mama ordered the Cheese Pizza (Pictured below). As you can see she was ready for that pizza, she took one before I could even take the picture. Lol. She told me she liked it a lot! Kmsl. I did take a bite of the pizza and I will say that they have the best cheese pizza. The cheese pizza was even better than my pizza. Good stuff!
There was an issue with Brian’s pizza. Originally he had ordered the Meat Eater, but the cooks made the Joe’s special. This caused his pizza to come out after we were almost finished eating. Luckily, he was given the other pizza as well. Pictured below is the Joe’s special. The Joe’s Special consisted of Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon, Sausage, Hamburger and Shrimp (Pictured below). This one was very similar to the Landry’s special, but the Joe’s Special consisted of more spice. Though it was the wrong pizza, the pizza was delicious. We loved the spice factor.
Pictured below is the Meat Eater which consisted of Canadian Bacon, Pepperoni, Grilled Chicken, Hamburger, Sausage and Breakfast Bacon (Pictured Below). Brian loves Pizza with an assortment of meat. He enjoyed the pizza. At the point of the pizza coming out, I had eaten enough, so I didn’t want anymore.
Overall our experience at Pizza Village was superb. We enjoyed the food, the service was top notch and the environment was family friendly. With the exception of the mess up on Brian’s Pizza we had no complaints. Pizza Village compensated our meal because of the cooks mistake on the Pizza order, which was a blessing. But even if they had not compensated the meal, our opinion would have still been the same. Pizza Village will definitely be a place that we will visit again and again.
