Fat Pat’s Bar & Grill is a very familiar restaurant in the local restaurant industry and recently opened a third location. A family friendly sports bar offering some of the best burgers in town. Fat Pat’s menu is not just limited to burgers.
We recently dined at the new location in Carencro, LA. The new location was really nice. Conveniently located in a shopping center near Super 1 and CC’s Coffee.
My daughter and I walked in and we were impressed with the look of the sports bar. There were televisions offered at each table and on the walls of the restaurant.
The bar area had Televisions all around with elevated seating. The bar area is away from the main area of the restaurant. There were glass doors that can be closed if someone wants to book a party or if there is a sporting event that people are watching.
In addition, there is a really nice covered seating area. Sort of a patio area, but the area is not open. At the time we dined, it was raining and it is possible that their blinds and windows may open, but I don’t know that for sure. The patio area also had televisions throughout the dining area.
The restaurant was kid friendly. I had my daughter with me that day. The staff was great. The waitress catered to her needs as well. She even changed the table’s television to cartoons for her to watch. She loved that.
We started with the Dirty Bird Wings. Wings that are topped with cheddar cheese, diced bacon and your choice of wing sauce. Our wings were tossed with Honey BBQ sauce.
The wings were very good. Fried nicely and evenly tossed with the wing sauce.
I was having lunch with my daughter so we decided to share a few items.
The Chili Mac & Cheese Burger sounded delicious so we decided to go with that burger. I wanted a photogenic burger so I added lettuce and tomato. Unfortunately it didn’t come dressed with the lettuce and tomato on top.
But the burger was superb!!! A well seasoned burger, we really enjoyed every bite. The burger was topped with housemade mac and cheese and chili. Really good!! The burger was served with fries.
We also ordered the Windy City Hot Dog. A Nathan hot dog that is “dragged thru the garden” with yellow mustard, fresh tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, onions, jalapeños, dill pickle spear and a dash of celery seasoning on the bun.
The hot dog was different, but in a good way. I loved the different textures of the toppings of the hot dog. Really good!
We had plenty of food left to go home with, the portion sizes of each dish we ordered was very hearty.
Overall everything was good. I love that Fat Pat’s had a variety menu. Offering something for everyone in the family. Even if you are health conscience there is a dish for you!
The new location of Fat Pat’s is my favorite. I love the setup of the restaurant. The service was really good. The waitress was knowledgeable and very accommodating.
Fat Pat’s is located at 203 Wallace Broussard, Road, Carencro, LA 70520. The hours of operation for the Kitchen is Mon. – Sat. from 10:30 am. – 10:30 pm. and the Bar is Mon.- Sun from 10:30 am – Until.
