My husband recently had a birthday. Birthday’s are a big deal in our house. Whether it’s a party or just a Birthday Dinner, we celebrate.

Unfortunately my husband’s birthday fell in the middle of the Winter Snow Storm. Oh my word!!

I was so stressed trying to figure out what to do for decorations. There was no delivery from Amazon or H-E-B because of the icy roads.

Something told me to check my Party stash. Ok, let’s see. Thankfully I overbought last year for his Birthday dinner, which meant we had items to decorate with.

Lifesaver!!! Decorations check!

Now what will we do for the Birthday Dinner and Dessert?

I got it! Steak Dinner! My husband is a Steak lover. He is very particular about his Steak. I decided to prepare him a Steak Dinner with Steaks from a company called Upstream Farms.

“Upstream Farms is run by twin brothers farming in the heartland, putting new ideas on old dirt and connecting our customers back to the land one meal and beverage at a time.

Farm to Table Angus Beef and Berkshire Pork.
Upstream was founded in August of 2016 by Matthew, Joseph and Samuel Brugger. We officially launched in January of 2017 securing an LLC agreement and using the capital we had raised to make investments in different aspects of the agricultural industry.
In essence, Upstream can be broken down into two separate businesses. Upstream Farms and Upstream Enterprises.
Upstream Farms is a small family farm rooted in Albion Nebraska. While many farms are focused on vertical growth, we are more interested in lateral growth, cultivating unique integrated solutions for farmers and healthy food options for families.
Upstream Enterprises invests in rural communities. We provide anything from capital to coaching and everything in between to enable small town business’s to thrive. Our mission is to grow rural communities through a combination of economic and social development.
Our name, Upstream, symbolizes the character trait of perseverance. A trait any individual needs to be involved in production agriculture or rural economic development.
Our main logo, the Up, represents our commitment to working towards sustainable innovative agriculture that will feed our entire world.
Our sub logo, the bridge, represents our commitment to bridging the gap between consumers and producers. We will be 100% transparent with our customers and are always willing to answer answer any question they may have.
We are Upstream. A small farm making a difference”.

Upstream Farms has Steaks, Burgers and Roasts. Upstream Farms shipped me:

  • Chuck Roast
  • Flat-Iron Steak
  • First-Time Bundle that included:
    • Dry-Aged Ribeye
    • Dry-Aged T-bone
    • 2 lbs of Ground Beef

I prepared a Surf and Turf Dinner with Beef from Upstream Farms for my guy.

The Menu was A Bone in Ribeye with Butter Poached Shrimp over homemade Mashed Potatoes.

This Ribeye Steak was incredible. The freshness of this meat was evident.

My husband absolutely loved his Steak. He said babe this company has delicious meat.

In addition to Beef, Upstream has Pork Chops, Ham, Bacon and Sausage.

I have some other recipes coming with the other products they sent me. Stay tuned…

But I will tell you if you are able to order Beef or Pork from Upstream Farms, do it now. You won’t regret it.

I am thankful for the collaboration with Upstream Farms it came at the right time and allowed me to have a nice upscale dinner for my main man.

Let me end this birthday post by talking about my husband’s dessert. I was going to order him his favorite dessert from an amazing local bakery, Key lime pie. Unfortunately the roads were closed so the lady couldn’t deliver me the pie.

That means I will have to find something in the house. Ok, I got it, an Orange Supreme Cake.

I took a cake and made the cakes into something decent. I elevated a simple box cake by adding orange zest and orange juice to the icing.

Then finished it with a little orange slice. He absolutely loved it.

It was moist and delicious.

This Winter Storm caught us all by surprise, but we made it work.

Here is the post to shop the Decorations and Cake items.
