Fish Friday is something we have very often. Growing up in Louisiana we ate Fish on Friday every week.  When we eat fried fish tartar sauce is a must have condiment.  We didn’t have any bottled tartar sauce left from the last time we cooked fried fish. So I decided to make my own with the ingredients I had on hand.

I have a few versions of tartar sauce. This is my easiest one.

Easy Homemade tartar sauce 

Ingredients:

  • Mayo – 2 tbsp
  • Spicy mustard – 1 tbsp
  • Dry dill (dill weed) – 1 – 1/2 tsp
  • Capers – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – pinch
  • Pepper – pinch
  • Cayenne pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Dill relish – 1 tbsp
  • Juice of the Lemon – 1/2 of the lemon

Directions:

  1. Add in the mayo, dill, spicy mustard, cayenne pepper, dill relish, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Stir.
  2. Enjoy.
