Fish Friday is something we have very often. Growing up in Louisiana we ate Fish on Friday every week. When we eat fried fish tartar sauce is a must have condiment. We didn’t have any bottled tartar sauce left from the last time we cooked fried fish. So I decided to make my own with the ingredients I had on hand.
I have a few versions of tartar sauce. This is my easiest one.
Easy Homemade tartar sauce
Ingredients:
- Mayo – 2 tbsp
- Spicy mustard – 1 tbsp
- Dry dill (dill weed) – 1 – 1/2 tsp
- Capers – 1 tbsp
- Salt – pinch
- Pepper – pinch
- Cayenne pepper – 1/2 tsp
- Dill relish – 1 tbsp
- Juice of the Lemon – 1/2 of the lemon
Directions:
- Add in the mayo, dill, spicy mustard, cayenne pepper, dill relish, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Stir.
- Enjoy.
