This past week my mom and I had the pleasure of dining at Sisters Kajun Kitchen. The owners are two sisters; hence the name. Shana Adams-Collins and Dawn Adams have been in business for about 20 months now.  The ladies both have a warm and friendly personality.
I had a chance to speak with Shana quite a bit at the beginning of the interview and she mentioned that they both have been cooking all their lives. She was on her own at the age of 16 and has always been in the restaurant business. Her Mother in Law taught her a lot about cooking as well.
Shana and Dawn are a well run oil machine. They are a powerful Duo. It is only the two of them that work in the restaurant at this time. But they have a good system and it works well for their business. I love their drive and passion for the Food Industry and making sure that their customers are served the best of the best.

We had never dined at the the Kajun Kitchen prior to the interview, but we were looking forward to what the sisters had prepared for us that day.
The first dish that we tried was the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo with Rice and Potato Salad. The gumbo was delicious. Packed with flavor. I loved the Smoked Sausage that was in the Gumbo. The Gumbo had white meat in it as well. The Gumbo was smooth, well seasoned and full of meat. Some places only give you a few pieces with a lot of juice; not here. A great portion size. They started off with a bang.
We had the Fried Chicken and Macaroni and cheese with a roll. The Fried Chicken was superb. Oh my! Seasoned perfectly, it does have a kick so if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. The best fried chicken I have had in a long time. I love Popeyes, but this reminded me of my grandma’s Sunday Dinners where she would prepare Fried Chicken. I love the crunchiness of the Fried Chicken. Nice and juicy, fried perfectly.
The Macaroni was delicious, made with American Cheese, seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Homemade goodness, this dish was a slam dunk. Wow. My only suggestion would be to maybe a Texas Toast or a Buttery Biscuit. Other than that, a scrumptious dish.
We also had the Dylan’s Kajun Extreme which is a Seasoned Patty with spicy mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and pepper jack cheese. This burger was so good. The spicy mayo added an extra kick with the pepper jack cheese. Very yummy burger. The bun was a little toasted, but I would have liked to see a little more brown on the bun, but besides that, delicious burger indeed.
The burger included fried pickles. I think the portion of pickles was a little small simply because of presentation purposes. But that’s an easy fix, I would even suggest selling the burger with chips or more pickles. This is only a preference suggestion.
For dessert, we were served a Peanut Butter and Chocolate Bread Pudding. One word, Scrumptious. I was blown away by this dessert. The Bread Pudding was served warm and topped with whipped cream and Chocolate drizzle. A great way to end a delicious lunch.

In addition to these dishes, they also carry Salads, Sammies/Poboys, Fish Platters, Popcorn Shrimp or Double Dutch (Fish and Shrimp). No matter what your taste there is something for everyone.
They also have a Kids Menu which includes Macaroni, Shrimp, Grilled Cheese, etc.
In addition to their lunch, Sisters prepares Breakfast sandwiches and Omelets starting at 8:00 am.

Sisters Kajun Kitchen also takes phone orders. So if you are in a hurry, no problem; call ahead and pick up your order at the Drive Thru.

Sisters Kajun Kitchen not only served delicious food but their beautiful spirit makes for a wonderful dining experience. The food is served with love and they cater to each customer the same way.

One thing I will say is that I love that they are strong believers in Family. The poem shown below says it all, “One of life’s greatest blessings, a household full of unconditional love and nurturing where you share hurt, joys, laughter, and fears, members who share the same values, beliefs, and traditions, a group descending from a common ancestor; your support system, the people who know you best, those with whom you make the greatest memories of your life”. Wow. Not sure who wrote this but definitely true.
Shana mentioned no matter what they get in life, Family is always what is most important to us. I love that!
