Super Taters is a very uniquely designed restaurant that was developed through pure desperation to supersede the spot that he was in years ago. Jerry Bobb is the owner of Super Taters. He is a young entrepreneur who is extremely driven and talented in many areas.
Jerry is from Franklin, LA, his grandmother taught him how to cook. He enjoyed cooking for his family.
His aspiration wasn’t to be a Chef, but he worked as a manager at a local restaurant while he was in College. Jerry graduated in Business from University of Southwestern Louisiana now known as U.L.L.
After working at a local restaurant, Jerry wanted more in life. So out of his desperation came this development, SUPER TATERS which is a potato shop that also serves soups, salads, wraps and sandwiches.

SUPER TATERS specializes in super sized, stuffed potatoes can be topped with more than 100 options.  So if you can dream, you can have it.

Below are photos of the wall that includes actual photographs of their food. This was developed to give customers an idea of the options and what the potatoes might look like.

The pictures really do look exactly like your food. Jerry told me that was one thing he was not willing to compromise. He wants what the customers sees visually on the photo to look like what is served on their plates.

Jerry understands that people eat with their eyes first. Presentation must be on it before leaving the kitchen. I have to say, I was impressed because the food was exactly like the photos. Impressive.

Super Taters was built organically all from his own vision. The Logo Design was developed by Jerry. He does his own advertisement, created an app on his own. His logo design came out of his love for comic books and sports.

We were excited to try the food at SUPER TATERS. Neither of us had ever tried their food. We started with the Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo Super Sized Stuffed Tater. This was a creamy shrimp Alfredo sauce with shrimp, broccoli, butter, cheese, chives and bacon, sour cream was served on the side.

The baked tater was on point! A superb tater indeed. I loved the creaminess of the sauce. The only thing we were missing was jalapenos but he fixed that problem for us quick. We topped it off with jalapenos wow. Amazingly delicious.
The portion size was huge. We shared the potato and I still had some to take home with me. If you are going for lunch, you will have leftovers.
For those who may not want the potato with many toppings, there is a plain Jane or a veggie topped tater. In addition, you can build your own Tater exactly like you want it.

We also tried the Soup and Salad Combo which included a Crawfish Salad with Corn and Crab Bisque. Pictured below.
The Crawfish salad included chopped romaine lettuce, sliced boiled egg, bacon, croutons, red onion, tomatoes and your dressing of choice. We chose the ranch dressing, but they also serve bleu cheese, raspberry vinaigrette, honey mustard,  Thousand Island, Italian and Caesar.
The salad was very tasty. The seasoned crawfish was delicious on the salad. Fresh ingredients.
For my health conscience readers, Super Taters also serves House salads, Caesar salad, Shrimp, Chef Grilled Chicken and a few other options.
The soup was very good. Nice kick to it, awesome flavor and spice. Packed with flavor. I could have eaten several cups of the soup.
Super Taters serves a different soup each day.
The Pepper Jack, Patty Melt with Potato Salad were the last items we tried. A hot sandwich that consisted of a real beef patty, pepper jack cheese, red onion and spicy mayo on thick sliced bread. We absolutely loved the sandwich. The right amount of heat, a good portion size. This pressed sandwich is a must try if you like Patty Melts.
The potato salad was mustard based with seasoning on top. Spicy but good. We couldn’t eat it all, but I made sure to take some home for my husband to try; he loves potato salad and he gave it the thumbs up.

I didn’t get to try the potato below but that’s the Buffalo Chicken Taters. This tater included diced chicken, buffalo sauce, butter, cheese, chives and bacon. Definitely looked dynamite. I have to go back and try the Tater for sure.

In addition to this one there were several other unique ones like the Frito Pie Tater, Red Bean Tater, Mushroom Bacon Swiss, The Wisconsin, just to name a few. Many many options to choose from.
One thing I noticed immediately when I walked in was his love for sports and his support for our Louisiana teams. Representing LSU, New Orleans Saints, and the Rajun Cajuns. I loved it!

We arrived at the restaurant for a late lunch, the restaurant wasn’t packed initially, but as time went on more and more people began to arrive.

Super Taters received lots of call in orders. Great for those who are working and can’t stop to eat in the restaurant.  On average it takes 15 minutes or so to prepare whatever is ordered. If you are on a time crunch, call ahead orders are encouraged.

Jerry and his staff are very friendly. A warm family friendly environment.

Jerry was very personable. He has carved out a niche that will definitely keep him in business for a long time. His personality and desire to listen to the customers and what they have to say is a great asset for him.

Some business owners want you to eat at their restaurant, but they don’t want to hear what you have to say. Jerry wants to hear the good, bad and the ugly.

I mentioned the Super Tater app, this app is good for discounts and specials. Download it before you go to see what specials they have. The day we dined he was offering a $5.00 tater special. Not a bad deal for lunch. Go and download!

One question that I asked Jerry was if he had any new creations coming? Possibly a dessert baked potato made with a sweet potato. I would suggest a sweet potato potato with butter, cinnamon, sugar and pecans, call it the Dumas Effect. What do you think? Ha ha.

Also a Gumbo potato which will include shrimp, chicken and sausage. Hmm. I must go back and try this one out if it makes it to the menu. All of recipes are original and are developed in house. He uses the workers as a genie pig to try his recipes. The recipes are tested until they are correct.

Overall we enjoyed our time at SUPER TATERS. The food was superb and served with excellence. I wished I lived closer to his location, but hopefully as he grows more and more he will think about one in the Youngsville area or near by.

I loved his passion to serve the customers with top notch service. His desire to give the customers what they want is admirable.

The huge portions and beautifully presentations matched the photos which I must admit I doubted but he proved me wrong.

Wishing the very best to him in the future. See you soon Jerry. I am adding this one to my list of Favorite places.
