A few weeks ago, my husband and I had the pleasure to enjoy the delicious food and hospitality of the Little Big Cup.

As we approached the building, it had that neighborhood feel. The flowers outside added a nice curb appeal that was very inviting.

We were greeted by a lovely hostess at the door. She was very friendly, warm and inviting. We were welcomed in and seated very quickly.

When we walked in, it felt like home. The homey feel with a elegant feel to it. The restaurant felt like we were there for a dinner party. A very nice atmosphere.

One of the things I really liked was the different style of seating. Round tables, dining tables with chairs and the candle light style areas, which were positioned more in the corner for the more romantic/private. We didn’t sit in the corner seats, but I went and sat in one of the chairs to see if it was comfortable. I loved the end chairs; very relaxing soft chairs. Great spot if you are going for coffee and dessert or brunch.

We arrived early so I could get some photos of the patio area. The covered patio was gorgeous. Beautiful string lighting, tables and chairs and a Louisiana decor. Very pretty and relaxing with the nice breeze. The outdoor area reminded me of Rip Van Winkle, peace and tranquility. A very peaceful environment.

After we had a chance to take in the environment, it was time to try the cuisine. We started with the Carrot Coconut Curry Soup.  The soup topped with sour cream and chives. A smooth, rich flavor with a touch of heat. Very good soup.

Our next item was the Fried Green Tomato Crab Stack.  Beautiful presentation. The Green tomatoes were fried in cornmeal, with a corn relish in between and topped with chunks of fresh crab meat and a remoulade sauce. OMG. One of the best things of the night.  The flavors were spot on!

This was a chef special appetizers, I think that this appetizer needs to be added to the menu permanently.

The appetizers had supersede our expectations. We moved on to the Seafood Buffet. The dinner buffet was filled with many delicious dishes.  Grilled seafood, fried seafood, seafood in a gravy, the list goes on and on.

Upon entrance into the buffet there is a soup area.  The soups today were Corn and Shrimp Bisque and Seafood gumbo.

The setup for the soup/gumbo area was nicely decorated. The restaurant decor and flow was thoroughly thought out.

The salad looked delicious. The Garden salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons. The Salad Dressing was served in a wine glass style bottle and iced in a bucket.

Below is the crawfish pasta salad. My husband had it and he said it was a really good cold pasta salad with a good taste.

The Caprese salad was beautifully placed and taste delicious. There was also a spinach salad and a squash and zucchini salad.

The salads were delicious and beautiful, but it was time for the main dishes. The seafood spread was laid out. Whole Fried fish, fried shrimp, shrimp or catfish courtbouillion, boiled shrimp and stuffed catfish. Wow, where do we begin.

We started with the whole fried catfish and shrimp. I also had the fish courtbouillion. So so good!

The fish was fried perfectly, a good crunchy batter and the fried shrimp as well. We were very satisfied. The homemade tartar sauce was delicious.

The sides pictured above was the crawfish fettuccine, stuffed mushrooms, corn maque choux and also the catfish courtbouillon. All of these dishes were good in their own way. But the crawfish fettuccine was the best; creamy with an excellent taste.

Above is the boiled shrimp. Good shrimp, but the shrimp were over boiled which made it hard to peel. But the seasoning was spot on.

Above is the food plated, excuse my presentation, but I wasn’t a bit worried about the plating. I was ready to dive in.

After my husband and I were done eating, we had a few minutes to chat with the owner, Sanjay Maharaj. He is a very warm, inviting man. I understand why we felt at home when we walked in, it is his character which was displayed within the restaurant through his staff, the food and the restaurant itself.

One thing I wanted to know was why the name The Little Big Cup? He told me the story about how he lived in New York years ago and there was a coffee shop there in New York called The Big Cup that he absolutely loved so much. He decided to bring a little of New York  and this place there in Arnaudville by opening a cute, quaint spot called The Little Big Cup. A great story and I love that there was a sentimental story behind the name.

To end our dining time there at The Little Big Cup, we had Dessert and Coffee. My favorite part of the meal. The dessert area was decorated and displayed beautifully.

Below is a shot of the Dessert Plate that we had. WOW. No we didn’t eat all of it. But we did take it home and ate on it for a few days. The was an Italian Cream Cake, The Pumpkin Bread Pudding, which I highly suggest for the Holidays. So good. In addition, a Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding and a Caramel White Chocolate Bread Pudding. So good. The Caramel White Chocolate Bread Pudding is pictured above.

Some of the best desserts I have ever had. All the desserts are baked in house by the lovely spirited Crickett Fredrick. She does an amazing job with the desserts, in addition she is a very knowledgeable waitress. We really enjoyed her service.

Overall, we were very pleased with our dining experience at The Little Big Cup. It’s a family, friendly environment with delicious food and wonderful service.

The Buffet is every Friday and Saturday night. The Buffet may not have the same items each week, but check their website for more information. www.littlebigcup.com
