Who doesn’t love a good Gyro? I love a good Lamb or Chicken Gyro. Lamb is my favorite though.

I created a quick and easy version of a Lamb Gyro at home.

Lamb Meatball Gyro

I love a good Lamb Gyro. I created an easy version of a Lamb Gyro that you can make right at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Egg Beat the egg
  • 1 - 2 Palms Full Plain Bread crumbs
  • Salt Season to taste
  • Black Pepper Season to taste
  • 1 lb Ground Lamb
  • Dried Thyme Generous amount
  • 3 - 4 Leaves Fresh Mint Torn or chopped
  • Dried Oregano Generous amount
  • Ground Cumin Generous amount
  • Dried Rosemary Generous amount
  • 1/2 Purple onion Julienne
  • Lime, Cilantro, Garlic Goat Cheese Desired Amount
  • 1 bag Shredded Carrots Desired Amount
  • 1 Big Tomato Diced
  • Dill (Fresh) For Garnish
  • 2 packs Stone Fire Mini Naan Bread
  • 4 Mini Cucumbers 2 Diced for Tzatziki sauce and 2 sliced for the gyro
  • 1 small container Greek Non-Fat Yogurt
  • olive oil
  • Pam Spray
  • 1/4 Lemon Juiced
  • 2 Garlic Cloves Minced

Ingredients:

  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Ground Lamb
  • Thyme
  • Fresh Mint
  • Oregano
  • Ground Cumin
  • Rosemary
  • Purple Onions
  • Lime, Cilantro, Garlic Goat Cheese
  • Shredded Carrots
  • Big tomato
  • Dill (Fresh)
  • Stone Fire Naan Bread
  • Mini Cucumbers
  • Greek Non-Fat Yogurt
  • Olive Oil
  • Pam Spray
  • Garlic cloves

Directions:
  1. Beat the egg in a bowl.
  2. Add the Lamb.
  3. Add the salt, black pepper, thyme, mint, cumin, oregano, rosemary and bread crumbs. Season with the spices generously.
  4. Mix all together. The meat mixture shouldn't be too wet. If it's too wet, add more bread crumbs.
  5. Spray a pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.
  6. Begin to form balls by hand or use a small ice cream scooper. Roll together in your hand. The meatballs should be small enough to fit in a mini naan.
  7. Place the meatballs in the pan.
  8. Broil the lamb meatballs at 500 degrees for 10 - 13 minutes. Depending on the size.
  9. While the lamb meatballs are cooking. Make your Tzatziki sauce.
  10. Cut the lemon into 4 wedges. Set aside.
  11. Dice the cucumbers for the Tzatziki sauce. Set aside.
  12. Slice the cucumbers for the Gyro.
  13. Generous amount of dill chopped. Set aside.
  14. Mince the Garlic cloves.  Set aside.
  15. Dice the tomatoes. Set aside.
  16. Julienne cut the purple onions. Set aside.
  17. Add the yogurt to a bowl to make the Tzatziki sauce.
  18. Add the juice of the lemon, add the cucumbers, dill, minced garlic, salt. Mix together. Taste. Add more lemon and salt to intensify the flavor (optional).
  19. Finish with a drizzle of olive oil and a little more dill. Set aside.
  20. Remove the meatballs. Set aside.
  21. Heat the naan in a toaster oven or on the stove. Only a few seconds.
  22. Add Tzatziki sauce on the naan, a generous amount, Meatballs (3), cucumbers on both side, tomatoes, carrots, purple onions, a few small pieces of goat cheese and fresh dill. Drizzle additional Tzatziki sauce (optional step).
  23. Enjoy.
