My family was in town visiting recently. On our way home from picking my grandma and mom up we stopped in at Floyd’s.

My family was coming from Louisiana and my uncle meets me at the Texas Rest Stop to pick up my Mom and Grandma.

Perfect location to meet up. Really cuts my drive short.

Floyd’s is a restaurant with Seafood expertise. Floyd’s is a restaurant that is heavily influenced by the Gulf Coast, from the decor that whisk you away to Louisiana to the ambiance of the restaurant making you feel at home.  To Cajun dishes that are authentic and like Louisiana cooking. Floyd’s has many locations across Texas.

We were all hungry, so we stopped at Floyd’s the Mount Belvieu location. I’ve been seeing the restaurant from the highway for awhile, finally we had time to stop and have lunch.

As we drove up, I quickly noticed the beautiful outdoor spaces. The restaurant has a great curb appeal.

We entered the restaurant and asked for outdoor seating.

We were seated on the outside area and waited for a our waiter to come. He arrived and he was very sweet and informative.

He took our drink orders and allowed us some time to peruse the menu.

We decided to order a few appetizers.

The Fried Catfish Pieces were thinly fried catfish pieces. The fish was perfectly fried and served with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Really good.

We also ordered the Fried Boulettes. The Fried Boulettes are basically fried Boudin Balls served with a house made ranch sauce. Pretty good. Wish it was a little more seasoned but it was fried perfectly.

My son ordered the fried fish with steamed vegetables. The same type of fried fish as the appetizer. The steamed veggies included cauliflower , broccoli & carrots. He loved this meal.

Baby girl ordered the Cheeseburger and fries meal. She said it was just a regular cheeseburger, nothing special.

My mom ordered the Catfish Po boy with fries. The catfish po boy had tartar sauce, lettuce, tomatoes. The po boy was served on Louisiana style po boy bread. Superb. My mom loved it. She didn’t like the fries too much.

My grandma and I ordered the Seafood Courtbouillion. The Seafood Courtbouillion included catfish, shrimp, crawfish in a rich sauce with onions and bell peppers. Served with rice. This dish was packed with flavor. Seasoned to perfection. Served with rice and parsley flakes.

We love Courtbouillion. This dish was incredible. We really enjoyed this dish.

Overall the food was superb. The food was well seasoned. The Courtbouillion was the best dish of the day.

My only complaint is that the plating of some of the dishes seemed rush and wasn’t good. For instance my grandma and I ordered the exact same dish. Her dish had a good variety of seafood in her Seafood Coubillion. Where as mine was missing fish and consisted mostly of crawfish.

The service was phenomenal. Our waiter was awesome. He was one of the best we’ve ever had. He was attentive, served with a smile, kind, he also made sure we knew a little about the restaurant. A Really good waiter.

Floyd’s Mont Belvieu is located at 12621 IH-10 E Mont Belvieu, TX 77523. The hours of operation are Sunday –  Thursday 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday – Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
