It’s crazy to believe that Mother’s Day has officially come and gone. Time is flying by a bit too fast for me. I am looking forward to a little slower pace hopefully this Summer.
Anyways, my Mother’s Day was low key and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
We went to church on Sunday, enjoyed a great service with the Family.
Following Service we stopped in for lunch at Postino Uptown.
Postino Uptown is a cute cafe that is very welcoming. It’s a spot that you visit and want to stay awhile. A great place to visit with friends to catch up, eat and drink.
As we entered the restaurant, I loved the decor and layout of the restaurant. Colorful, bright, vibrant spot.
The hostess was really nice and welcoming.
It was a beautiful day so we decided to dine outside. The patio had midst fans which was nice.
Our waitress arrived to take our drink order.
I tried the Cucumber Honey Lemonade. This drink was visually pretty and refreshing. Absolutely delicious.
My son ordered The Picnic. This kid’s meal included Sliced turkey, provolone, chips, grapes and apples.
Let me start by saying that Postino’s kid’s meal/menu was well thought out. Their little paper menu for the kids was cute and fun. Thanks for considering the kids, Postino.
My son loved his meal. He’s quite the jokester as you can see above.
Our daughter decided to try the OMG Grilled Cheese. This meal included a layered grilled cheese with gruyere cheese, brie, whipped goat cheese, white cheddar, smoked bacon. Served with creamy tomato soup.
This dish was comfort food on a plate. Crispy, cheesy, well balanced grilled cheese. Oh so good. The tomato soup was creamy and flavorful so good.
Baby girl loved this one! Great choice!
My husband ordered the Meatball Shakshouka. This dish included Boiled egg, House Meatball, Arrabiata (tomato) sauce, feta cheese, fresh herbs. Served with crispy fingerling potatoes.
A delicious, well thought out brunch dish. The flavors balanced out perfectly. I would say this is a comfort food type of dish that everyone needs to try at least once. Delicious. Everything was seasoned perfectly.
I ordered the Crispy Cauliflower. This dish was life changing. I was a little hesitant to try this because of the raisins. But man, I am so glad I tried.
When I say one of the best cauliflower dishes I have ever eaten. So good.
The Crispy Cauliflower dish consisted of a Crispy, perfectly prepared Cauliflower that was served with sultana raisins, capers and romesco dip. The dish was beautifully presented. Subtle well balanced flavors that worked nicely together.
It was so good.
I also ordered The Skewers. The skewers included a petite filet and chicken skewer served on a bed of Silician garlic yogurt and olive oil. A simple yet well presented dish.
I loved this dish. The dish overall was really good. My only complaint is that the chicken needed a little salt.
The Sicilian garlic yogurt was nice for dipping the meat.
The Cauliflower and Skewers made a great meal option.
We were going to try dessert but their dessert menu was limited. A nice fruit plate or fruity option would have been nice.
But there is a Crave and Van Leewen Ice Cream shop next door. We stopped in there.
Overall our dining experience was nice. The service was good. The atmosphere was nice.
Postino is a spot that you enjoy with friends or with your family. The staff was really nice. The food was superb.
Postino has several locations in Houston. We visited the Uptown location at 1151 Uptown Park Blvd, Ste. 12, Houston, TX.
