During our visit to Louisiana this past weekend, we took a little time to go back to the area we use to live in and checked out a brand new Dessert spot called The Cobbler House.
The Cobbler House is a dessert shop that specializes in Cobblers, Cinnamon Rolls and Waffles as well as other dessert options.
The Cobbler House is owned by Gospel great Koryn Hawthorne. Koryn is a powerhouse Gospel singer, actress and now business owner.
As we approached the Cobbler house, I loved the bright orange accents. It was very eye-catching.
But we immediately noticed the Cobbler house didn’t look like it was open. As we walked closer to the building we saw the sign placed on the outside concrete.
I would definitely recommend balloons or something to draw attention to the Dessert Shop.
As a former resident of Youngsville, Sugar Mill Pond area, I was excited to try this spot.
We walked in and the orange decor carried into the dessert shop.
I Loved the artificial grass wall and quote.
There was also a nice big wall with the cobbler house sign.
We weren’t greeted by the lady in the front until we approached the counter. Customer service is key to the success of any business. You can have the most delicious product and lose customers because of this.
My family and I placed our orders and progressed to have a seat. We were there with family so they also placed their orders.
My husband placed some tables together so we could enjoy our desserts together.
Our son ordered the Bluebell vanilla ice cream cup. He’s pretty simple when it comes to dessert.
Our daughter ordered the Fried Oreos. She took a bite and immediately noticed that the oreos had Nutella which has hazelnut. She has an allergy to nuts. Her along with lots of kids in Louisiana.
Thankfully she didn’t have a reaction because it was such a small bite.
But I definitely feel that they should have a spot under the Oreos that says about the Nutella drizzled on top.
When I mentioned it to the lady working the desk she didn’t seem like she cared. But she did give her another order. Which came out right away which confused me.
Fried Oreos aren’t made to order? Just curious about that one.
My Strawberry Stuffed Cinnamon Roll came out. Visually it didn’t look that great but it was delicious.
Love the strawberry option. It wasn’t really stuffed more like topped but I guess that’s the term they went with.
Nonetheless it was really good.
My husband ordered the Blackberry Cobbler with the cinnamon ice cream. This cobbler looked so good. I was sad that I didn’t order that. This cobbler was superb.
It was so good he wasn’t willing to share but one bite 😂😂.
My sister ordered the Sweet Potato Pecan stuffed cinnamon roll. This cinnamon roll looked great. I took a bite of it and it was really good. This is Koryn’s favorite.
My sister loved it.
My nephew ordered the Cookies and Cream ice cream.
My niece ordered the Peach Cobbler with cinnamon ice cream. Yummy yummy. She loved it.
My brother ordered the Strawberry Peach Cobbler. This was interesting. I’ve never heard of that combination. The cobbler didn’t look very appealing visually but he loved it.
Presentation is everything. People eat with their eyes first. Just saying.
Overall the food at The Cobbler House was phenomenal. Everything was really good. The service wasn’t very good at all. The service can definitely use some work.
The dessert shop has a great color scheme but the shop looked undone and like the work was rushed. I definitely recommend that they finish this spot and complete the work.
Now some may not like this review, but remember I am a Food writer not just an influencer. My goal is always give my HONEST review of our experience and the food. Whether I know a person or if I am hosted. I will always be honest.
I am a big fan of Koryn and I think this is a great Dessert Shop but it could be a little better with some changes. Investing in some marketing to make sure that people know that you are open. As well as customer service being top notch and people feeling welcome. Louisiana is one of the friendliest places to visit and this should be evident at the Cobbler House.
I hope that this spot makes it, because I think that it is a great addition to the Youngsville area.
Youngsville has blown up since we moved. This dessert shop and many other restaurants are now in the area.
