It’s football season! There is a sense of excitement in our household because we all love Football Season. From High School football to College football and NFL Football. We are ready to cheer on our favorite teams.
Today’s recipe is the perfect game deal meal. You can make it ahead of time and serve when your guests arrive.
This Pork Butt recipe was created when I received a package from Mantis BBQ. Here is a little backstory about Mantis BBQ.
“One day our lives were turned upside down. Our seemingly healthy son, and Mantis BBQ co-founder, was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the kidneys. After years of failed treatments, followed by debilitating dialysis, he underwent a successful transplant with a kidney donated by his uncle.
Following the biggest roller coaster of our lives, we got an education that we never could have foreseen. We learned that over 2 million people are on dialysis worldwide and there are more than 100,000 patients in America on the kidney transplant list fighting for one of 21,000 donor organs, and even for those lucky enough to receive a transplant, the kidney they waited and longed for does not last forever. The only permanent solution is an artificial kidney.
After years of friends and family asking us to sell our famous sauce we have decided to combine passion with purpose so for every bottle of Mantis BBQ sauce sold, 10% of the proceeds will go to The Kidney Project at UCSF and Vanderbilt, where development of this artificial life changer is underway. As you savor the spicy sweetness of Mantis BBQ Sauce, please know you will be sweetening the odds not only for our son, but also for so many others in need of a kidney”.
I used the Mantis Sweet BBQ Seasoning and the BBQ Sauce in this recipe.
