I’m back with another Restaurant Feature, Up Thai Kitchen.
My husband and I were out running errands and when we were done we stopped in at a restaurant near our house to grab lunch.
Up Thai Kitchen’s dining room is closed, To go orders only. Which works for us, because we aren’t dining in at any restaurants right now. They don’t have an outdoor space so we took our food to go.
Up Thai Kitchen serves a Thai Menu with noodles, curry, appetizers, rice dishes and so much more.
We started with a few appetizers. The Seasoned Edamame. The Edamame was steamed to order, tossed in their spicy house seasoning. Finished with Himalayan salt.
Edamame is one of my husband’s favorites.
I ordered the Tulip Dumpling . The Tulip Dumpling is one of Up Thai’s top appetizers. The Tulip dumplings were made up of Ground chicken and shrimp, water Chestnut, mushroom, carrot, and onions in wonton wrapper. Served with sweet soy sauce.
The tulip dumpling was a cute little dumpling that was fried and served with a sweet soy sauce. The flavor profile was good.
My husband ordered the Basil Tilapia for his entree. Crispy Tilapia topped with spicy basil sauce. The Tilapia was perfectly fried and served with a spicy sauce that included basil with onions, red bell peppers and green beans. Served with white rice.
This dish was superb. Absolutely delicious.
Basil Fried Rice is one of my favorite Thai dishes. Up Thai has their own version of Basil Fried Rice. I chose the Shrimp as my protein. The Shrimp Basil Fried Rice was absolutely fantastic. So good.
The shrimp in the Fried rice were huge. The rice was very tasty. I chose Level 2 for the spice level. I could have handle a little more. Next time, I will try Level 4.
Overall, the food at Up Thai Kitchen was very good. The service was top notch. The food was all made to order.
The Basil Tilapia was the best of the day.
