Every year at the end of the school year we take a trip to the beach. This year was no different. The beach trip is in honor of a great school year and finishing with good grades.

This year we decided to stay close to home because we have a big vacation coming up in July. So we traveled to Biloxi, MS. We have been to the beach in Biloxi several times.

We love the area that we stay in. The area is up and coming, but since we here last, the area has really grown. One of our favorite things is that the beach is about 5-8 minutes away.

On Saturday, we went to the beach and had a great time. It was our foster sons first beach trip. He had a blast, the beach was a success. No meltdowns. So thank God for that.

Baby girl had a really good time playing all day on the beach.  One of her absolute favorite things.

After a full day on the beach, we headed to the hotel. Before going back, we stopped at a Dessert Shop called BOP’s.

Bop’s offers high-quality frozen custard and an excellent variety of premium frozen custard delights, including cones, shakes, and sundaes, in a clean, family-oriented environment and offers exceptional service to customers.

Here is a little background on what Custard is for those who may not know. Custard is an old-fashioned ice cream treat created in 1919 on Coney Island, New York. Made with all natural ingredients and no preservatives or artificial ingredients. Bop’s custard is made fresh throughout the day.

The custard at Bop’s is served at approximately 26 degrees compared to regular ice cream at approximately 10 degrees. This allows your taste buds to get a “true taste”, unlike ice cream served at a lower temperature which tends to numb or freeze your taste buds while eating. Custard is more dense and smoother than ice cream, because less air is whipped in.

It was a hot day, so a nice cold treat was in order.

I ordered a Bop’s Classic called the Strawberry Shortcake. Pictured above. A warm pound cake topped with vanilla custard, strawberries and whipped cream. OMG!!! Superb. The pound cake was delicious all by itself. But adding the strawberries and the custard just put the dessert over the top. So good.

Overall we really enjoyed our desserts. We went through the drive thru to place our order, because the little guy was sleeping after a full day on the beach.

The service was great. We didn’t have to wait long once we ordered. Everything came out just as we ordered it. The custard was superb.

The menu offered many options to choose from;  Options like Smoothies, Shaved ice, Frappes just to name a few. Bop’s is guaranteed to have something to satisfy your sweet tooth. Be sure to go check out one of the Bop’s Locations; tell them Da’ Stylish Foodie sent you!!

Bop’s has several locations in Mississippi and one Location in Louisiana. The Bop’s we tried was Bop’s of D’Iberville, 3179 Mallett Rd. Ste 25, D’Iberville MS 39540, (228) 392-BOPS.
