A few weeks ago, our daughter’s school celebrated Homecoming. Which meant they had a half a day of school so we decided to head to the Woodlands Mall for a fun day and a little shopping. Before heading to the mall we grabbed a bite to eat at House of Pies.
House of Pies is a Diner Style restaurant serving up diner classics, pies, cakes and much more.
As we entered the restaurant it had the feel of a diner but with more of an upscale style. The staff was very welcoming.
The focal point as we walked in were the large case of pies, cakes and bakery items. Well HELLO there, so yummy looking indeed.
We were seated in our area of choice and handed a few menus. Our drink orders were taken immediately as we perused the menu.
It didn’t take long for everyone to decided what they wanted because we were starving.
Our little man ordered the Kid’s Fish and Chips. This dish consisted of deep fried pieces of Cod fillet with french fries. A good portion size and great choice for him.
Baby girl wanted a sandwich so she ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. Oh my yum… Thinly sliced grilled ribeye, green peppers, onions and mushrooms served on grilled hoagie bread topped with Swiss cheese. Served with fries.
Cheesy and flavorful just like she loves her sandwiches.
My hubby wanted fish also, he ordered the Filet of Fish. Deep fried fish served with mashed potatoes topped with country gravy and corn. With a side of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce and lemons.
His dish also came with the soup of the day, Clam Chowder. The Clam chowder was delicious. Hearty, tasty and filling. Perfect for the cold day.
I ordered Fish also, but I ordered the Dinner menu Fish and Chips. Hand battered fish fillets, deep fried, french fries, corn and a house salad.
You can’t visit House of Pies without trying a slice of pie. We ordered the Lemon Meringue pie to share. My husband loves Lemon Meringue and he was very impressed with the pie.
We are considering ordering some for Thanksgiving this year!
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch at House of Pies. Our waiter was amazing, she was super sweet and attentive. The food was served pipping hot and to our liking. House of Pies is a great family spot that is serving up Diner Classics.
