My family and I love to travel. One of the things that are a must when visiting any City or State is to find a Cajun Restaurant. We love being able to see how the Cajun food compares to what we are use to.
We stopped in for takeout at Cajun Craft. Cajun Craft is a spot that is serving up Southern food that taste amazing.
The restaurant had a very laid back vibe.
We perused the menu online before going in to place our order.
Our daughter chose the Cup of Seafood Gumbo. The combo was flavorful and the cup had a good amount of seafood.
She also had the homemade Mac and cheese.
The Mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy. She loved her choices.
My husband ordered the Seafood Platter. The Platter included Fried Shrimp, Fried Catfish, Fried Oysters, hush puppies and fries. Served with Tartar sauce and cocktail sauce.
The fish and shrimp was fried and seasoned to perfection. The Cajun fries were delicious.
The fried oysters were rubbery and we didn’t care for that. For the price, I think a side of coleslaw or potatoes would have been a great addition. With that being said the seafood platter was delicious.
I ordered the Catfish Atchafalaya. The Catfish Atchafalaya consisted of fried catfish that was served over a bed of rice and smothered with crawfish étouffée and topped off with chives.
The fish was perfectly fried. The crawfish étouffée was so flavorful. Superb.
My only complaint was the rice was dry and may have been from lunch time. Very clumpy. Wish was sad because the other items were so good!!
Overall the food was really good. Taste like Cajun cooking we are use to.
Our only regret is that we didn’t get to dine in and eat. We tried to go back on Saturday night but they were closed.
We will definitely visit next time we are back in Waco.
