On any given week you will find me preparing some sort of Cajun dish. Today’s Cajun, Louisiana inspired dish is my Shrimp Etouffee Pie. I tested this Pie on my family and they gave me a thumbs up. SO here it goes.

These pies all started with Wick’s Pies world class pie crust.

Shrimp Etouffee Pies

Ingredients:

  • Wick’s Pies Crust – 4
  • Frozen Cooked Shrimp – 12 oz
  • Smoked Paprika – 1/4 tsp
  • Old Bay Seasoning – 1/3 tsp
  • Slap Ya Mama or Cajun Seasoning – 1/2 tbsp – 1 tbsp (depending on how spicy you want it)
  • Land O’Lakes Butter – 1 tbsp
  • Campbell’s Golden Mushroom Sauce – 10.5 oz
  • Diced Onions – 2 tbsp
  • Diced celery – 2 tbsp
  • Diced red and green bell peppers – 2 tbsp
  • Seafood Stock – 2 tbsp (optional) *use water if you can’t find the stock.*
  • Remoulade sauce – Drizzle on top of the pie (optional)
  • Fresh Parsley – Garnish

Directions:

  1. Remove the Wick’s Pie Crust from the freezer.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet.
  4. Season the shrimp with old bay seasoning, slap ya mama and smoked paprika. Set aside.
  5. Add the celery, onion and bell peppers to the skillet. Saute for 5 minutes.
  6. Add in the golden mushroom soup.
  7. Stir. Turn the heat down to low to medium heat.
  8. Add in the seafood stock. Stir.
  9. Heat for about 2 – 3 minutes.
  10. Add in the shrimp. Just to heat up. Remember the shrimp is pre-cooked. I used pre-cooked shrimp because I know some people can’t find fresh shrimp. If you use fresh shrimp, add 5 – 8 minutes to the cooking time.
  11. Turn off the heat and allow the shrimp etouffee to cool.
  12. Now for the crust. I used mini ceramic pie pans. Shop the pie pans here
  13. Form the pie crust into the pans. Trim the excess off.
  14. Bake the pie crust for 14 – 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  15. Ladle in the Shrimp Etouffee. About a ladle and half.
  16. Bake the pie for additional 10 – 12 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  17. Drizzle the Remoulade on top. This is an optional step. I know remoulade sauce is a Louisiana thing but it is so yummy.
  18. Garnish with Parsley.
  19. Enjoy.
