Cajun Green Beans 

Green beans and potatoes were a staple in our home growing up. It was in our rotation weekly. But as a side dish. Well this Cajun Green Beans can be eaten as a meal or a side dish. Whatever you prefer. My guys love Meat and potatoes so I prepared Short Ribs with Rice and Gravy with a side of these Cajun Green Beans. So good.

Ingredients:

  • Bag of Yellow Potatoes (small ones)
  • Snipped Bag of Green Beans
  • Chicken Stock (entire carton)
  • Diced Colorful Bell Peppers
  • Diced onions
  • Cajun Seasoning(2-3 tbsp)
  • Smoked Sausage Sliced
  • Lipton Beef packet (1 packet)
  • Water (1  – 2 cups)
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Garlic and Herb Seasoning (optional or use Cajun Seasoning)

Directions:

  1. Rinse the small yellow potatoes. Cut the potatoes into fours. Set aside.
  2. Set the instant pot to Saute.
  3. Add a tbsp of olive oil to the instant pot.
  4. Heat.
  5. Add in the smoked sausage. Saute. 5-7 minutes or until browned. Stirring often.
  6. Add in the bell peppers.
  7. Add in the onions. Stir and saute. 3 minutes.
  8. Add in the green beans.
  9. Add in the Beef Lipton Recipe Secrets packet.
  10. Add in the chicken broth.
  11. Add in the water.
  12. Add in 2 – 3 tbsp of Cajun Seasoning. Stir.
  13. Set the instant pot to the beans setting for 25 – 30 minutes. Pressure level high.
  14. Cover with the clear lid if you have it, Shop it here
  15. Halfway through the cooking process, season the green beans with smoked paprika, garlic and herb seasoning. Taste.
  16. Add in some salt (optional).
  17. Stir.
  18. Once finished cooking. Serve over rice or pair it with short ribs. It was so good with the short ribs.
  19. Enjoy.

Serve with Short Ribs over Rice and Gravy. So good.
